Next years outlook sees most of the county’s best programs returning key pieces as they try to continue the winning tradition the 910 carries. Here is part one of some of the top returning players to lookout for in Onslow County during the 2020-21 season.
Arianna Hamilton (Richlands guard, 2021)
Hamilton is one of the top returning scorers in Onslow County going into next season. She averaged just over 15 points per game for a Richlands team that won 15 games and made the 2-A state playoffs. Along with being the Wildcats leading scorer this past season, Hamilton had double figure scoring in 21 of her teams 26 games.
Alongside Hamilton, Mallory Foy will be another big scoring option returning for the Wildcats. The rising junior guard averaged 10.5 points per game to go along with 6.4 rebounds per contest. She also played the passing lanes very well finishing with two steals per game. Expect Richlands to be a challenger once again in a difficult Coastal 8 1-A/2-A conference.
Noelle Miller (Swansboro guard, 2021)
Miller was a part of another really good guard duo in Swansboro. The rising senior plays with a ton of energy on both ends of the floor especially defensively. She tied for the team lead in scoring at just over 12 points per game and will be a big part of why the Pirates should win a ton of games this coming season.
Grace McAllister (Swansboro guard, 2021)
The other half of the Pirates returning guard duo, McAllister was also a co-scoring leader for her team this past season. She also led Swansboro in rebounding, assists, and steals for a team that finished with 18 wins. The Coastal 3-A is another challenging conference in this area and the Pirates should be a conference title contender in 2020-21.
Ma’Nyah Thomas-Wilson (Living Water Christian guard, 2023)
One of the top scorers in Onslow County this past season, Ma’Nyah Thomas-Wilson is looking for a big encore after an excellent freshman season. She averaged 20 points, four rebounds, and four steals per game for Living Water Christian and she scored 10 points or more in every game she played in. Her stellar play helped the Warriors finish with a 25-1 record and they should be right back around that number this upcoming season.
