There are players from Michigan that are putting on a show – dominating games, showing dramatic improvement, and showing potential. For all these reasons, these are just some of the Michigan prospects that have showed me that they deserve a crowd to play in front of as soon as that’s possible.
Emma Arico (2024, G, Saline, Bates Fundamentals)
Remember this name when we can all get in the gym. Arico has a well rounded game and a super high basketball IQ. She has shown outstanding court vision that helps see the floor and use the angles.
Faith Carson Faith Carson 6'4" | C Buchanan | 2023 State MI (2023, C, Buchanan, UTS Elite)
Carson is skyrocketing up the prospect rankings, and with good reason. She’s become a must see prospect. She’s been dominant in the paint for UTS Elite. Carson rebounds high and keeps the ball above her defender when possible. She uses her feet and strength to establish position.
Reece Hill (2022, PG, Parma Western, Michigan Premier 2022)
Hill was very impressive in the USJN Premier Showcase. So impressive, that she made the events All-Star Team. Hitt continues to improve and schools at the next level will surely take notice.
Ashley Loon Ashley Loon SG Berkley | 2022 State MI (2022, SG, Berkley, Tri-County Hoopers)
This grassroots season, Loon is continuing to prove that she’s a very nice prospect and a top notch shooter. Fans and coaches will love watching her offensive repertoire.
Michigan Cagers 2021 Selvia
The entire lineup is just really good. They won 14 total games in 10 days. The Cagers team has a core that has played together and it shows.
Emaia O’Brien Emaia O’Brien 5'7" | PG Chandler Park | 2021 State MI (2021, PG, Chandler Park, Michigan Storm 2021)
O’Brien is one of the best players in Michigan and could even be a contender for Miss Basketball. She’s simply must see. The waterbug like point guard can play both pass first and score first styles.
Layne Sleight Layne Sleight PG Jackson Northwest | 2023 State MI (2023, PG, Jackson Northwest, Michigan Mystics Trevithick)
I’m really excited to see Sleight in person. She’s looked very strong so far this summer. Sleight has the look of a well schooled floor general that makes her teammates better.
Jaci Tubergen Jaci Tubergen SG Hudsonville | 2022 State MI (2022, SG, Hudsonville, West Michigan Drive 2022)
Tubergon is one of the most talented scoring guards in the state and a must see player. This summer, she’s showed herself as a consistent scorer and a tough match up. Tubergon had 53 points, 10 assists, and 6 steals in the LBI Summer Sizzler.
Avery Zeilstra (2022, PG, Byron Center, West Michigan Drive 2022)
Zeilstra has been lights out and worth a watch in live action. She’s not just a floor general, but also an outstanding shooter with 3 point range. Zeilstra has been a dependable go-to scorer. In the LBI Summer Sizzler she scored 57 points and had 10 steals.
