Caroline Thiel: The 5’11 small forward from Rocky Mount high school was a force this last season. Averaging a double-double with 17 points and nearly 12 rebounds, she really made a name for herself. She can finish over either shoulder, she has a good mid-range shot, is comfortable putting it on the floor and getting to the rim, and she is one of few players I have seen who actually boxes out to get her rebounds. She has good hops, she rebounds extremely well, and has good timing since she also averages nearly 3 blocks per game. She has more than enough potential to keep improving and earn a college scholarship come the time.
Jermia Walker: The 5’0 point guard from Southern Nash high school has made a name for herself as a pesky defender. She can really stuff the stat sheet averaging right around 11 points, 5 rebounds, 4 steals, per game as a freshman. She got a lot of her points from steals. She is a pesky defender who harasses whoever she is guarding, plays hard so she is in the right place at the right time, and on several occasions just takes the ball out of whoever she is playing arms. She gets downhill and into the paint quickly, needs to work on her left hand finishes, but does a really good job of getting to the free throw line (attempting over 100 on the season). As long as she keeps developing, she is another who will earn herself a spot on a college roster come time.
Dee Graham: The 5’6 point guard from Rocky Mount high school is a strong lead guard already. Averaging 10 points per game, and grabbing 4 rebounds she is a strong guard. She shoots the 3 ball extremely well for a freshman, at 43% on the season! She is good at getting into the paint as well and finishing at the rim. She has a strong build she can take a bump and still finish or get to the free throw line. As a point guard, the leader role comes natural and it will keep coming to her as she progresses.
Semirah Duffie: The 6’0 forward from Franklinton high school has a slender, athletic, build. She is still a little raw around the edges, but still had a good freshman outing. She averaged nearly 6 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. There were 5 different games that she grabbed 6+ rebounds this last season. With her height and athletic ability she should keep developing her skills, and easily become a known name around the conference.
