Lanie Smith came out on fire for FBC Carolina Elite. She was automatic with her shooting under pressure, and converted several fast breaks into points for her team. She was unstoppable in the post and showed how persistent she is when it comes to grabbing rebounds and scoring. She has some great height already, and she certainly knows how to use that especially on defense when she jumps into passing lanes. In the post, she is patient when making her moves and seemed unstoppable from the block showing off different kinds of moves to score.
Kayla Wilkins had a dribbling clinic with the way she was showing off her ball handling abilities. She moves fluidly with the ball and waits patiently before making her explosive move to create space between her and her defender. She has an excellent shot, too, and contributes three pointers for her team. On defense, she is quick making it difficult for people to get by her.
Skylar Adams was a guard who moved all over the court whether she was trying to go for the steal or move on offense to get the pass. She moved well with the ball, too, finding her open teammates or creating space for her own jump shot. It is common to see her convert steals into fast break points easily no matter what kind of pressure she is up against.
Amiyah Ware was a speedy guard that was aggressive on defense making plays on the ball. She was one of the first ones down the court for her team when making a fast break, and she was not afraid to embrace contact whether on offense or defense. This led to several old fashioned three point plays for her. She also has a great shot behind the arc.
Taylor Barner was fun to watch with how vocal she is and how she was able to be a leader for her team as one of the starters. She was patient with the ball and made good decisions with her passes and timing of her shots. She had an amazing hesitation move on a fast break that turned into a floater for two points. Her vision of the court at such a young age is exciting to watch.
For Charlotte Dream Elite 2024, Ashlee Shaw was aggressive with the ball and fought through pressure when driving in the lane. She showed off her shot from behind the arc. She is great on defense as well moving quickly to stop a guard from getting by her.
LaTayshia Andrews is a sneaky guard who handles the ball well even against bigger opponents. She is fast making it difficult for players to catch her. She made smart decisions with the ball knowing when to pull back on a fast break or make the pass to her open teammate to complete the transition points. When running the point guard position, she showed her vision of the court making smart passes to get her teammates involved and moving into the open areas on the court when she was not controlling the ball.
