Eagle Grove has yet to record a winning season this decade, finishing last year with just three wins for the second consecutive campaign. Senior Ariane Lyman returns after posting almost eight points per game with 169 total. Classmate Lea Friedl is also back after she had 37 assists to lead the Eagles. Friedl also averaged just under seven points per game. Hannah Sampson, who posted 6.4 points a night, shot almost 40 percent from the three-point line.

Leading scorer [player_tooltip player_id="165039" first="Alli" last="Boyle"], who also had 69 assists, returns for the Cardinals. Boyle posted almost 12 points a night, shooting 32 percent from the floor. Sophomore Kara Hohertz dominated the glass, recording 129 total rebounds and over six per night. Just two seniors depart from the roster for Earlham. McKenzi Young, Boyle, Jenna Conry and Hoertz started nearly every game together.

It was a tremendous season for the Buccaneers, as they won 17 games and had over 19-point average margin of victory. East Buchanan has now won at least 15 games three consecutive seasons and have overcome a tough stretch between 2014-16 where they won just three games total. The Raiders were one win away from state, coming up short to eventual runner-up Bishop Garrigan in a regional final. Junior [player_tooltip player_id="129032" first="Lauren" last="Donlea"] returns after recording 119 assists with an almost 5-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio. Donlea also had 124 steals to lead the team.
