These individuals below showed up and showed out this past weekend on the road for one of their first weekends of this 2026 AAU season. Each player listed is mentally locked in moving into this Spring so I'm sure we are in for some big performances throughout by each.

BP was dishing out some crafty assists this weekend in the DSM area. Patterson was not only hitting her targets with ease as a facilitator, she was setting up all of the action that was leading into those moments. She had situations where she received screening action at the top of the key, leading into a nifty pick-and-roll opportunity. She had other situations where she moved off of the ball once she passed it out of the teeth of the defense and then she stepped back on the perimeter with spacing while looking for the pass right back for a shot attempt. We saw all different types of situations out of this group and Patterson this weekend. In most, they handled their own. If this was an example of how the rest of the Spring is going to go for this team then hold on cause they are going to put together one of the best season's in their programs history if they keep it up.

[player_tooltip player_id='920715' first='Emily' last='Tanny'] has hit the ground running as she comes off of a rememberable high school campaign the last four months. This last weekend she was making it rain from deep, getting to the bucket of simple finishes on either side of the bucket, while defending her own position at a steady rate. Tanny stands out as a top prospect because of her skill mixed with her size. If she starts hitting three pointers at this high of a rate moving forward, like she did this last week and like she did to end the high school season, than it's going to be hard to keep her out of the conversation for the #1 prospect out of Iowa in the 2029 Class. She checks off a lot of boxes and she keeps proving that she is getting better and better in real time, which is just as impressive I would say at this point in the process.

If you are familiar with women's basketball within Iowa then you know all about the Joens sisters from throughout the past years and what they are capable of on both sides of the floor. The next sister in line from this group, that is going to be one heck of a high school player soon enough is Bailey. Bailey, just like the rest of the family, possesses the ability to put the rock in the net at a high rate with her shooting prowess. This past weekend she was someone that demonstrated that she doesn't need a lot of time or space. If she see's an opening and gets it off cleanly, it's going to look like a great attempt coming off of her hand from deep and it's usually going to go in a majority of the time. She also showed off her ability to put the ball on the floor, getting to other open spots within the three point line whenever she was overplayed defensively. This is only the tip of the iceberg for Bailey as a hooper. She is going to be a name we write about a lot over the next few years throughout the State if she just keeps up being consistent.

There were some big time performances up North this weekend out of the State's #1 ranked 2028 - [player_tooltip player_id='643486' first='Jhaliana' last='Guy']. Guy almost touched 40 points in multiple games on multiple weekends on the road this Spring already and she is doing this while playing efficiently as a distributor as well. I think that something Guy is starting to figure out is that she brings a lot of attention to herself on the court with her ability to score the basketball. Opposing team's are starting to lock in on that and so in return, Guy has been throwing out some nasty assists in the full and half-courts within their offense whenever she is doubled or tripled. Overall, if Guy can keep rounding out her game as she continues to grow both mentally and physically, who knows where it might take her. All I know is that Guy has a bright future on the hardwood and I can't wait to see where it goes from here if she keeps putting in the work.

[player_tooltip player_id='644557' first='Ari' last='Phillips'] had some games this weekend where she just couldn't miss. She was hitting anything and everything she was putting up on the offensive end and that's not saying she was taking bad shots. She was just simply unconscious, getting everything to fall and that's a legendary feeling to have. There are certain players out there that have some of these moments every year in one form or another. Phillips is a skilled enough hooper that this does not surprise me one bit. She is their guard who needs to lead the 17U group this Spring so she will have to have showings of dominance and this weekend was a great example of what she is really capable of.
