Fayetteville is a city where it has produce college talents such as NC State Kendall Moore, Wake Forest Alex Scruggs, Fayetteville State Cici Moore and Imani Elliot. The list goes on an on. Now as you listen to the talks around the city of who is the crop of talent coming into the spot light you start to hear a few names being repeated over and over from the people in the community. Here are five girls that are up and coming.
1. 2024 | 6”1 | PF/C | Keliegh Goode | Seventy First High
Goode is a solid post player that can score inside the paint area very effectively. Rather it’s a post up on the block, hitting the short corner, elbow jump shot or cleaning up on the offensive boards, she just has the ability to put the ball in the hole. It doesn’t stop there she makes it difficult for opponents to score in the paint with her size and length. As she continues to sharping her game, her name will definitely be heard more of in the future to come.
2. 2024 | 5”6| PG Jada Angels |
Angels ability is one to really be excited about. She is long athletic, handles the ball extremely well. Great in the open floor by being able to break her defender down and get to the hole and finish. She has a scores mentality and is relentless in the half court set with the amount of pressure she puts on her opponent. She also can defend well, with her grit and tenacious aggression getting fatter the ball always keeps her in the play with steals and deflections. Stay on the look out for her.
3. 2024 | 5”6 | PG Zahra Geralds | Terry Sanford
Geralds is an athletic quick guard with steady handle; A strong and tough defender on the perimeter, she is capable of drawing contact which gets her to the charity stripe; superb in transition; She continues to improve her versatiltiy. Definitely is developing into a true point guard of the future. She definitely will be a player to watch out for next season.
4. 2025 | 5”6 | G | Jahriel’s Murchison | Fayetteville Christian
Great in the open court, attacks the basket with an aggressive mindset. She is not afraid to take the big shot either. As her shooting becomes more consistent her game will improve to be tough to stop on any give day. She is able to score 10 points of her ability to play the passing lane and lock down her opponent in man to man defense. You definitely will hear her name for years to come.
5. 2025| 5”1 | PG | Danauje’s Brooks| Northwood Temple Academy
quick lead-guard with a aggressive mindset; scrappy type guard that hounds oppenents on defense, tough to contain, consistently pushes the tempo in transition; and up and rising guard that continues to improve her skillset. Has good range behind the arc that will make hard for defenders to guard her when hitting the three. Everyone should be on the lookout for her name next season
6. 2024 |5”5 | G | Dezi Clark | Fayetteville Christian
Clark is super athletic with sprinters speed. She is able to get the ball and go coast to coast with her lighting speed. Plays tough and aggressive defense that makes it very difficult for her opponent to get past her because of her length and quickness. Still developing she will be a lot to deal with in a couple of years.
