Player Transfer News - Updated Part 2 By Michael Wholey 10/27/20 5:00 PM EST It is that time of year and a number of players and coaches have been on the move. Last month we released a list of notable transfers. Here are a couple more impact players that have made the move. 2021 Point Guard [player_tooltip player_id="219959" first="Jazmine" last="Peaks"] (Winter Haven HS / Essence) 2021 Point Guard [player_tooltip player_id="219959" first="Jazmine" last="Peaks"] has transferred from Tampa Bay Tech to Winter Haven High School. It has been a bit of a roller coaster ride with Tampa Bay Tech being one of the state’s top programs the last two years, winning the state championship in 2019 and being nationally ranked in 2020 before getting upset in the state playoffs. With the removal of their head coach and the appointment of new head coach Jon Mason, Tampa Bay Tech was expected to be one of the state’s top teams with a starting five of [player_tooltip player_id="91525" first="K’Nisha" last="Godfrey"], [player_tooltip player_id="91554" first="Janiah" last="Barker"], [player_tooltip player_id="91577" first="Amiya" last="Evans"], [player_tooltip player_id="219959" first="Jazmine" last="Peaks"] and [player_tooltip player_id="145100" first="Jayla" last="Murray"]. Tampa Bay Tech will still compete amongst the state’s top programs with a big 3 in-tact of Godfrey, Barker, and Evans and Winter Haven who always is amongst the state’s top teams will make big jump as they are now the favorite to win a state championship and become one of the state’s top 3 teams and have potential to be a nationally ranked team for the 2020-21 season.   2022 [player_tooltip player_id="91558" first="Kailyn" last="Gilbert"] (Seffner Christian / FGB) One of the state’s top players and a top 50 national prospect [player_tooltip player_id="91558" first="Kailyn" last="Gilbert"] has transferred from Tampa Prep to Seffner Christian. Coach Joe Cooper has led Seffner Christian to consistent success and seen a number of alumni go on to play college ball such as most recently [player_tooltip player_id="91520" first="Chimera" last="Iloanya"] (Tennessee State), [player_tooltip player_id="91439" first="CC" last="Mays"] (Marshall), Brylee Bartram (Florida / Vanderbilt), and Chelsie Hall (Vanderbilt). Gilbert heads to Seffner with two years of eligibility and a chance to make a run at a state championship. She was mainly a one man show dropping 30+ points per game consistently. Her stats will drop as she will have more weapons around her and she will be involved in more of a team offense where if they can gel together could make a run in Lakeland. 2023 [player_tooltip player_id="91644" first="D’Yanis" last="Jimenez"] (Charlotte HS / Miami Suns)<img class="alignright wp-image-217834 " src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2020/10/Dyanis-Jimenez-5-2019-MD-200x300.jpg" alt="" width="147" height="221" /> D’Yanis was one of the spring / summers breakout players picking up a number of D1 BCS offers as well as getting some interest from some the nation’s elite schools including UConn. Prior to this summer Jimenez played travel basketball with the MICS Wolfpack. She reunites with the Wolfpack head coach Matt Stephenson who is the varsity head coach at Charlotte HS in Punta Gorda, FL.
