A number of standouts from North Carolina made the trip across the NC-SC state line to participate in the Top 250 Expo and managed impressive showings in Myrtle Beach. These are a few of those from the Tar Heel State that girls basketball fans from both Carolinas may want to keep in mind.
Lariyah Clark Lariyah Clark 5'10" | SF Langtree Charter | 2022 NC – West Iredell High School – 2022 – The Warriors managed a double-digit win total for the first time in three years in large part because of Clark’s performances on the court. She posted an average of 18 points and over eight rebounds per game in 2019-20. For those that watched the happenings on Baller TV, she scored the first two points of one of the games after getting her own rebound. Clark does the little things well and coaches have great appreciation for players that do those little things consistently as opposed to players that try to make every play into a (Myrtle Beach) Sports Center highlight.
Ellia Wright – Jordan-Matthews High School – 2022 – With Wright, the Jordan-Matthews Jets has not gone wrong. Wright was another of those from the Tar Heel State who made the trip to Myrtle Beach. She is a potent scorer with an effective jump shot from long range and can slash her way through a sea of defenders. In the 14 games she played with the Jets last season, Wright scored nearly 12 points per game on average and also had nearly one steal per contest.
Brecken Snotherly Brecken Snotherly 5'11" | SG Eastern Randolph | 2023 State NC – Eastern Randolph High School – 2023 – After a pair of seasons in which the Wildcats only managed single-digit win seasons, Snotherly made a huge difference in what was a resurgent season for Eastern Randolph. Snotherly brought her extensive skillset with her to Myrtle Beach for the Expo. She made accurate passes, found teammates for scores and also defended well. Last season for the Wildcats, she averaged 18 points per game with over three assists, six rebounds and two steals while playing all 27 games for Eastern Randolph – as a freshman. As we like to say a lot, she got next and is just getting started.
