Rachel Smith Rachel Smith 5'7" | SG Great Crossing | 2023 State KY , Great Crossing – Smith and Great Crossing are both primed for a big season. Rachel is a good shooter with an evolving overall game. She averaged 8 points per game as a Sophomore and could come close to doubling that this year. A good shooter from downtown, Smith shot 35% from three last year. Her numbers across the board should increase as she shows she’s more than just a shooter and starts attacking the rim more.
A’Nya Winburn A’Nya Winburn 5'11" | CG Ballard | 2022 State KY , Ballard – Winburn has been on a strange journey the last few seasons as she’s gone from Moore to Central and now to Ballard. After sitting out for transfer, A’Nya should be ready to hit the court and get back to making her name known as a top Junior in the 502.
Josie Gilvin Josie Gilvin 5'10" | SG Sacred Heart | 2022 State KY , Sacred Heart – The Valkyries lost a ton to graduation but the cupboard isn’t bare at Sacred Heart. She averaged 6 points and 5 rebounds per game and is looking like she should be the second scoring option at worst for a program that will reload as opposed to rebuild.
Sierra Kemelgor Sierra Kemelgor 5'8" | CG South Oldham | 2022 State KY , South Oldham – Sierra is a well rounded player and continues to make a big impact on one of the best teams in the 8th region. After 10 points and 6 rebounds per game as a Sophomore, Kemelgor has her sights set on a double double this season and she is more than capable. Watch for her to make big strides on the offense this season.
Daisha White Daisha White 5'11" | C DuPont Manual | 2022 State KY , DuPont Manual – Manual is such a balanced team that it can be hard for any one player to outshine the rest but White is the glue that keeps the team strong. Daisha is truly a well rounded player who does a little bit of everything. If Manual makes a run at the 7th region title, Daisha will be part of the engine that gets them there.
Amaya Curry Amaya Curry 5'6" | CG Apollo | 2022 State KY , Apollo – Her recruitment has been heating up since the summer and Amaya is on the verge of a breakout season for the E-Gals. Amaya can score the ball at all 3 levels and has a chance to be the most improved player in the 3rd region this season. If her three point shooting becomes more consistent as a Junior, Curry may score 15+ points per game this season.
