Breakdown:
Jazzy Davidson
The eclectic scorer has been a household name as she is a tremendous athlete with a superb feel for the game combined with her wingspan and god-given tools. She sank four out of five from deep as she never forced a shot – making it look effortless out there. Where she is most dangerous is perhaps in the open court as she has a yo-yo hold on the ball – this along with her long strides makes her almost unguardable in the transition setting. She is second to none when it comes to reacting with defenders and has a million ways to put the ball in the basket.
Target Practice
Anytime a team shoots 13-23 from deep it will certainly be a day to remember – as the NW Stars White had a field day from alongside the arc. They shared and spread the wealth from the beginning, never forcing the issue as all their players touched the ball before they let it go. Their 25 assist total certainly illustrated the fact that this is a selfless group with a lot of talent and skill to go around the table – bolstered by their shot making abilities. Five players contributed on their three-point barrage – with four players making multiple from deep. In what was a game filled with tremendous shooting – it was all accelerated by their ability to make plays for each other each possession down the court.
Superb Effort All Around
When you have five players scoring 8 or more points as well as 31 total rebounds, production is an understatement. This team played with a lot of effort and showed up striking at the tip-off. Ava Heiden was a one-person defense force as her 8 point, 5 rebound, 4 block performance showed off her relentless ability to make a difference in the paint. Morgan Miller Morgan Miller 5'5" | PG Lincoln | 2023 State OR had a superb 8 point, 4 rebound, 6 assist effort as an all-around guard with upside. Eve Hart Eve Hart 5'9" | SG Wilson | 2022 State OR had a similar stat-line – with a 9 point, 4 rebound, 7 assist performance of her own as she displayed her ability to make a mark on the game. Olivia Poulvaati Olivia Poulvaati 6'0" | PF Tualatin | 2023 State OR came off the bench to produce an impressive 6 point, 11 rebound effort of her own – very telling of how punched in this group was.
