For Covenant Day, you would think that Mila Holloway (G, 2024) has been playing for years in high school with her ability to control the tempo of the game for her team. She is the floor general controlling the plays that are run, and she knew how to take over the game when her team needed her to. She can drive and maneuver around her opponents with ease getting by them and scoring in the paint. She did an excellent job driving and dishing the ball to her teammates getting everyone involved, and she pushes the ball from end to end. She knows when to drive the ball all the way to the hoop or show off her jump shot on a sudden stop. She had anticipation on defense showing her vision of the court on both ends.
Brooklyn Saunders (Comenius, PG, 2025) was all over her opponents on defense making sure she could grab the ball for a steal. She anticipated the passes to make sure she had a chance to grab them. Her shot was on display, too, making jumpers from all over the court. She had some important possessions at the end of the game where she blew by her defender to score some more points and make sure her team secured the victory.
For Comenius, Jaida McClure (SG, 2026) has a bright future ahead of herself. She can certainly shoot the ball from all over the court, and she knows how to create her own offense by grabbing steals and causing deflections on the defensive side of the court. She shows no fear of going against contact and knows how to convert on old fashioned three point plays.
Madison Owen (Arborbrook, PG, 2026) did an excellent job getting passes into her teammates, and she showed patience when letting a play develop. She also showed off her shooting hitting three clutch three pointers in the game to let her opponents know that her team was not going away easy. Her vision of the court is already impressive at such a young age knowing exactly where to put the ball, so her teammates can grab the pass and score.
