Sophie Levine (2024) was ready to show off her jump shot from all over the court. She would catch and shoot or create space between her and her opponent using fakes and various moves to get separation. She was the leading scorer for Providence Day against Ravenscroft. Her ability to shoot did not cave under pressure as she was making shots down the stretch to increase the lead for her team.
Lauren Jenson (2023) went on a scoring run all by herself scoring six straight points in the first half making sure that Providence Day was not falling behind. She scored in many different ways showing off her jump shot, driving to the basket, and making her free throws count. She even knew how to end the opponents’ possessions with her ability to track the ball and make some nice blocks.
Chandler Brooks Chandler Brooks 6'0" | PG 1 of 1 Prep Academy | 2023 State NC (2023) can play most positions on the court. She uses her height and strength to bully opponents in the paint, especially fighting for rebounds. She also handled the ball for her team for some of the game showing her versatility as a player. She can shoot from behind the arc making her a threat no matter where she is on the court. She had great shot selection, and she made great passes into her teammates in order for them to score.
Jordyn Latter (2023) could teach a clinic on how to play hustle defense. She was all over the floor tracking her opponents, jumping into passing lanes, and grabbing rebounds. If a ball was even about to be a loose one, she was right there ready to grab it when the opportunity presented itself. Just when you think the play may be dead, she makes acrobatic plays in order to score the basket. She was constantly moving with the ball protecting the possession towards the end of the game when her opponent was waiting for her to mess up. She even grabbed the game sealing steal.
El Ferguson (2021) showed her senior leadership for her team with some clutch shots in the second half including a three pointer to help her team obtain the lead. She did a great job following shots in order to grab rebounds for her team to gain possession or use the offensive rebound as an opportunity to get some second chance points. She is all over the court on defense using her hands to cause deflections and grab steals.
Lili Booker (2024) is a freshman who seems to play like she has nothing to lose and everything to prove. She drives against the toughest opponents with no fear of contact near the basket. She has an arsenal of moves that allow her to get by her opponents including Euro steps, hesitation moves, or just flat out speed. She is consistently pushing herself up and down the court. She keeps her head up as well always looking for her teammates making some nice passes that lead to points.
For Ravenscroft, Lindsey Carter (2022) uses all of her 6’2” frame everywhere on the court. She knows how to make her presence known in the paint with her blocks, and she is persistent when it comes to going after rebounds. Teams needs to focus on boxing her out or else she will score multiple second chance opportunities against them. Her talents aren’t limited to the paint, though, as she can certainly shoot from all over the court including behind the arc. She makes nice cuts to the gaps of the defense, too. She keeps the ball high and swings it using her strength to protect the ball. She was even tasked with handling the ball for her team when the guards were unable to get open for the pass in bounds. Her length was an obstacle of opposing offenses as her hands were constantly causing deflections and steals.
Aliya Richmond (2021) shows her senior leadership abilities controlling the tempo of the game. She knows how to let her voice be heard and use her body language to show her teammates what the play is going to be. She controlled the ball for most of the possessions for her team, and she knew when to reset a play. She would create opportunities to drive and score, or she would dish the perfect pass to her teammates in order for them to contribute. Her shot was also on display from behind the arc. She does a great job showing that she is about to pass it to her teammate and ends up pulling up for a jumper. She was the overall leading scorer with 13 points. She even had a nice block in the game showing her ability to track the ball on defense.
