St. Frances has been dominant since the IAAM was formed in 1999, winning 13 of the 21 league championship games in that span. They have won five straight and have their eyes on a sixth. They lost some major talent to graduation but that has never stopped them before. They bring back a fairly deep and versatile team, while once again dipping into the transfer pool to bolster their roster.
[player_tooltip player_id="137224" first="Anani" last="Humphrey"], 2021
Anani returns for her final season after signing with College of Charleston. She has been a clutch player for the Panthers the last couple of seasons, especially in last year’s championship game. She’s an excellent athlete and excels around the basket where she is very effective on the offensive glass and with short jumpers. She will step outside to the three point every now and then but her wheelhouse is in the paint. Look for a big final season from her.
[player_tooltip player_id="136408" first="Aniya" last="Gourdine"], 2021
Aniya is a legit player of the year candidate in what will be an abbreviated season. A big, physical guard, she recently committed to Temple University. She scores in bunches and is not afraid to take big shots. She has championship experience and will assume the leadership role for the Panthers.
[player_tooltip player_id="27870" first="Jalyn" last="Brown"], 2022
Jalyn transferred in from Riverdale Baptist and she is a huge addition to an already strong team. At 6’1" she is versatile and long. She can play point guard, shooting guard and small forward and can guard those positions as well. Her three point shot has become lethal and she is able to get to the rim and finish as well. She’s a great decision maker and facilitator so she will have a tremendous impact immediately.
[player_tooltip player_id="137265" first="Jala" last="Bannerman"], 2022
Jala looked good in fall league play. She is fast and athletic and super competitive. She brings it on defense, especially in the press and excels in transition. She played heavy minutes in fall action, let’s see if that continues.
DK Turner, 2022
DK will hold down the post position while providing rebounding, defense and solid passing from the post. She will finish around the basket and provide second chance opportunities by hitting the offensive glass. At 6’2" she brings legit size to the team.
Kimmya Hicks, 2023
Kimmya is a talented guard that can really shoot the ball. She looked promising in fall league play. She has a tight handle and showed the ability to get to the rim and finish so she should force her way into some minutes.
Keonte Lewis, 2021
Keonte came over from a successful Pikesville program last season. She was unable to crack the rotation on a regular basis last year and will have to fight for minutes again this year.
[player_tooltip player_id="163910" first="Kameryn" last="Dorsey"], 2023
Kam is a feisty competitor with a nice handle and good finishing moves in transition. There is a lot of competition for point guard minutes, but it will be hard to keep her out the mix. She never takes a play off or a step back.
[player_tooltip player_id="137242" first="Daimoni" last="Dorsey"] 2021
Daimoni has played some big minutes over the past two seasons so she should carve out a nice role this year. She has a nice three point shot so she helps stretch the floor, but she can also knock down mid range shots.
Kaitlyn Weaver, 2023
Ms. Weaver has been moved up from JV after showing some potential last year. She has some nice size and length so let’s see what type of role she can carve out for herself. Minutes will be hard to come by.
