Zachara Perkins-6’1 G/F (St Pius X HS)
Perkins has been one of the biggest surprises in the Houston area this season and it actually started at the Select 40 as she excelled in so many areas I definitely saw the progression yet after having a lengthy conversation earlier in the club season, I was taken away with her knowledge of the game yet that shouldn’t surprise me, her mom played many years in the WNBA but Perkins is shooting the three very well in high school and she’s running the point, handling the pressure as well and watching her take the game over in the last quarter a few weeks ago tells me what’s coming
Allison Howe-6’0 PF (Smithson Valley HS)
Howe’s upside is intriguing, she has the size as well as the power on both ends, she rebounds very well, with authority and her finishes are strong, and that’s after contact but her timing is what really got me going as she blocks shots with ease, not to mention deflects and alters them as well but her passion for the game just jumps right out at you
Gianna Angiolet-5’8 SG (Westlake HS)
Angiolet showed she could shoot the ball during the club season, she showed she could shoot with range at the Select 40, and in the HS Showcase, a one-day fall league event, she showed she could just flat out create her shot and drop it from everywhere. She understands how to set the defender up, she can take them either way and she has a legitimate pull-up jumper that’s hard to block because she leans and has a quick release but as far as her release, she also showed the “catch and shoot” numerous times with accuracy from deep
Kai Camp-5’8 CG (Northwest HS)
Camp gave me a great first look a the event, her upside is very nice when you factor in a few things such as she plays within herself and understands how to not only get hers in the flow but contribute in ways that may not show up on the score nor stat sheet. She plays “hungry” and that hunger on the defensive end tastes good when you see her diving after loose balls as well as playing pressure defense yet she can also take defenders off the dribble
Fia Filoialii-5’9 G (Taylor HS)
Filoialli has a whole lot going for her, she has the size, can handle the ball and she can see the floor and I liked her decision making at the event, she understands how to run a team and control the tempo but she also understands how to create her shot, she did that numerous times while being tightly defended and watching her understand how to not allow herself to be trapped was another very good sign
