Bethel Ekperigha Bethel Ekperigha 5'7" | SF Victory Christian Center | 2022 NC (G, 2022) had her basketball IQ on full display. As one of the main ball handlers for Victory Christian, she controlled the tempo of the game pushing the ball up the court and slowing it down when she needed to. She did an excellent job penetrating the paint in order to open up her teammates. She showed some good hesitation moves in order to let a play develop and get the score. Ekperigha can score from behind the arc, too. She does a great job separating herself from her opponents to get off her jump shot. Her amazing drive at the end of the game lead to an old fashioned three point play which ended up being the game winning points. She hustles back on defense causing problems by jumping into passing lanes.
Valeria Batista (SF, 2023) was great moving around in the paint in order to find the best position to get a pass. She did an amazing job rolling from the free throw line to the basket catching the entry pass and scoring for her team. She hustled up and down the court making sure she was available to contribute on fast break opportunities. She showed no fear going against contact by the basket. On defense, she was difficult to compete against with her handful of blocks that prevented her opponents from scoring.
Zaria Gool (G, 2024) showed that her IQ is already high with her ability to anticipate passes on defense in order for her to grab steals. She pushed these steals up the court herself scoring her own points in transition. She can handle the ball well against pressure and move it quickly up the court. She even showed off her shot from behind the arc. She had perfect passes into her post player teammates as well.
Another ball handler for Victory Christian was Harmony White (G, 2022) who was also excellent at anticipating passes when she was on defense. Her steals turned into fast break opportunities. In set offenses, she did a great job driving the ball into the paint drawing defenders to her as a way to open up her teammates for their own points. She hit a big three pointer down the stretch, too, helping her team secure the win.
Zion Duncan Zion Duncan 6'2" | PF Stuart Cramer | 2023 State NC (PF, 2023) continues to improve her post moves underneath. She bullied her way to the position that she wanted making sure she was ideally situated to get an entry pass. She would then move her defender in order for her to score. She made sure she was the one grabbing rebounds, and she had several points off of second chance opportunities.
