Kayla Friend Kayla Friend 6'0" | PF South Central | 2022 NC (South Central guard/forward, 2022)
2022 prospect Kayla Friend Kayla Friend 6'0" | PF South Central | 2022 NC had an excellent showing in her season opener with 16 points to lead all scorers. Whether it was finishing around the basket or a turnaround jumper, she scored her points in many different ways. Defensively, she made it difficult for the Golden Falcons to get anything around the rim from blocking shots to her on-ball defense.
Kayla Smith (South Central guard, 2022)
Another 2022 prospect that played well for South Central is guard Kayla Smith. She’s a knockdown shooter who can also score off the dribble at a high rate. Smith runs the Falcons offense without turning the ball over and always makes the right reads as a point guard.
Braden Kell (South Central guard, 2023)
Sophomore Braden Kell is another of the many promising guard prospects at South Central. Whenever, Kayla Smith went to the bench, Kell showed an excellent ability to be a primary facilitator. She also knocked down a couple of threes to keep the Falcons in firm control of the contest during the second half.
Kaitlyn Smith (Aycock guard, 2021)
While Aycock struggled offensively, their biggest spark came from senior guard Kaitlyn Smith. She pushes the pace well in transition and also hit a few outside shots as the game went on. Smith led the way for the Golden Falcons with 11 points and should be one of the top guards in Wayne County this season.
Katlyn Parrish (Aycock forward, 2021)
Katlyn Parrish is another top prospect out of Wayne County and she posted eight points in Aycock’s loss to South Central. Parrish, a senior forward, can handle, pass, and shoot the ball well for her size. She’s arguably the teams top facilitator and she’s capable of scoring from both blocks and from the outside. Parrish will likely have a big senior season, so she’ll be one to watch as this year goes on.
