Jenks-Union Tourney: Third-Place Game

<strong>No. 16 Putnam City West vs. No. 5 Mustang</strong> In what I have come to know is Putnam City West’s style, this game was a very up and down the floor, fast-paced affair. In the end, the shots did not fall for the Patriots while seemingly everything did for the Broncos to the tune of a .444 field goal percentage. Mustang walked away from this one 61-37 winners, securing third place in the tournament. <strong>Quick Hits - Mustang </strong> <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="160445" first="Jaki" last="Rollins"] (5-8 G) - </strong>Rollins has great size for a guard and shows very good handles and vision. She gets to the hoop with quickness and has a great floater should she find taller resistance. <strong>Randi Harding (5-6 PG) - </strong>Harding is a very good defender, almost lock-down. She is tough and quick and shows a very high basketball IQ. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="160439" first="Karley" last="Johnson"] (5-8 CG) - </strong>Johnson is deceptively quick and shows a deft shooting touch from any level. The Arkansas commit is an absolute star. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="211910" first="Kate" last="Niehues"] (5-10 F) - </strong> If there were an all-defensive team for the tournament, Niehues would be on it. She is a shot swatter and a very good rebounder. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="160455" first="Talia" last="Pogi"] (5-8 SG) - </strong>Pogi is a scoring star with a jumper so pure that it warms the heart of any basketball fan in the arena. Extremely athletic. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="197954" first="Jordyn" last="Rollins"] (6-1 F) - </strong>Rollins has tremendous size and is a very good rebounder. She is a force inside and finished the game with eight points and seven rebounds. <strong>Carly Mosley (6-1 C) - </strong>Mosley is strong and a big body in the middle. Her foot work is coming around and the junior could be a nice fit on an NAIA or JuCo team where she can develop. <strong>Parker Simonsen (5-6 G) - </strong> The freshman is getting good minutes on a very good team. Her time will come and she shows the ability to handle herself - and the ball - when called upon. <strong>Quick Hits - Putnam City West</strong> <strong>Alana Hutchins (5-5 G) - </strong>Hutchins is one of the numerous freshmen on the Patriots team and she is - like the rest of them - a very good ball handler with tremendous quickness. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="160452" first="Kierra" last="Brown"] (5-6 G) - </strong>Brown is a good point guard with vision. She does a great job on the defensive end of forcing turnovers with her quick hands. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="238723" first="Shamar" last="Bert"] (5-8 G) - </strong>Bert is one of the best in the state as a freshman and is really just beginning to learn what all she can do. Her jump shot is very good and she has outstanding handles. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="242119" first="Caya" last="Smith"] (6-0 F) - </strong>Another of the great freshmen on the PC West squad, Smith is long and lanky and only starting to figure it out.  She could be one of the best to ever play in Oklahoma. <strong>T’Nya Ray (5-10 F) - </strong>Ray is a very good rebounder who is tough inside on both the offensive and defensive end. She is long and could develop into a D-I player over the next year. &nbsp; &nbsp;
