<p class="p1">Here are some standouts from the class of 2022 based on their performances last week.</p>
<p class="p1"><b><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/01/Mary-Schleusner-scaled-crop-1920x1261-1610416380.jpg"><img class="size-medium wp-image-245482 alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/01/Mary-Schleusner-scaled-crop-1920x1261-1610416380-300x197.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="197" /></a>Mary Schleusner </b>#11 (Charlotte Latin, F) uses her length to her advantage.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She was causing deflections on defense, and she knows how to grab steals to take the other direction.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>To bring the trifecta of her defense, she can certainly cause blocks and that usually turned into steals that were pushed up the court.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>Her ability to follow shots and time her rebounds perfectly set her up for some second chance opportunities.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She would seem to come out of nowhere to grab rebounds, and in the fourth quarter she did a great job grabbing offensive rebounds to extend the possessions for her team.</p>
<p class="p1"><b>Maddie Shannon </b>#21 (Charlotte Latin, F) did a nice job driving to the baseline.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She <a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/01/Maddie-Shannon-scaled-crop-1920x1261-1610416433.jpg"><img class="size-medium wp-image-245485 alignright" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/01/Maddie-Shannon-scaled-crop-1920x1261-1610416433-300x197.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="197" /></a>made her presence known around the paint.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She was consistently aware of where she was and how to make a move to get to the basket.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>On defense, she did a good job moving around constantly finding ways to prevent her opponent from getting the entry pass.</p>
<p class="p1"><b>Ella Mcclain </b>#4 (Metrolina Christian Academy, SF) did a great job making her presence known inside fighting for rebounds.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She used offensive rebounds for second chance points for herself and fought through contact to get these points.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>On defense, she’d grab rebounds and immediately look to push the ball up the court. She had some nice cuts on offense to score some points near the basket always being aware of where she was on the court.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>On defense, she did a great job using her body and full length to prevent her opponents from getting the position they wanted.</p>
<p class="p1"><b>Taylor Houseton </b>#55 (Covenant Day, F) can power through any kind of contact that she needs to and fights for every possession.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She grabbed rebounds as well, especially on offense that she used for second chance opportunities.</p>
<p class="p1"><b><img class=" wp-image-245490 alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/01/Eseosa-Imafidon-139x300.jpeg" alt="" width="77" height="166" />[player_tooltip player_id="201036" first="Eseosa" last="Imafidon"] </b>#25 (Covenant Day, C) is tall and that certainly comes in handy when she is going up for rebounds.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>Her length makes opponents change their game plan when they get near the basket.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>It is a consistent occurrence to see her block shots.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She can use various moves to score including power dribbles and spin moves.</p>
