A big component of the offense for Charlotte Country Day is Brooklin Ingram (G, 2023) as she knows how to control the tempo for her team and let plays develop the way they are supposed to. She knows how to follow shots in order to grab rebounds, but she doesn’t necessarily need to follow her shot with her ability to shoot from anywhere including from downtown. She uses her defense to rattle her opponents staying close to them inhibiting their ability to dribble by her. It is common to see her score in the double digits for points and adding a handful of assists on top of that.
Angel Walker (High Point Christian Academy, G, 2024) does a great job driving the ball against contact. She sets the tempo of the game pushing the ball up the court. Her aggressiveness translates well to the other end of the court picking the pocket of her opponents which she can certainly push to the other end for some transition points. She has been making immediate impacts beginning her high school career for her school.
Delanie Hill (Providence, G, 2024) does more than just handle the ball and make her shots. She follows shots and grabs rebounds. She does a great job finding her open teammates cutting and makes sure to get the ball right where she needs to get it. There’s a reason opposing teams yell, “shooter,” when she gets the ball near the three point line, too. She can move quickly up and down the court even finding a nice block on a fast break to prevent her opponents from scoring. She is certainly showing why she is starting already for Providence.
Lindsey Nolan (Providence, F, 2024) does a great job moving around inside. She constantly finds the gaps in order to score, and she knows how to position herself to get the entry pass from her guards. She was constantly finding herself in the right position to grab the rebound and put it back up for a score. It seemed as if she constantly got lost from the opposing defense sneaking behind them to get an entry pass close to the basket.
Seini Hicks (Cannon, F, 2024) did a great job posting up underneath, especially after grabbing offensive rebounds finding ways to score off of second chance opportunities. She did not shy away from contact even using it with her power dribbles to get into position to score. She worked for rebounds on both ends of the court even coming out of nowhere practically to grab the board, and put it back up. She did a great job creating separation and showing off her jump shot. She was a big reason they were able to pull away from Charlotte Country Day where she finished with 12 points. Her stock continues to rise as she scores in double digits consistently and is constantly grabbing rebounds.
