<p class="p1"><span class="s1">MIAA Eastern Mass girls to watch </span></p>
<p class="p3"><span class="s2">The MIAA has produced some high level talent over the years from the eastern area. Notably, Sharp shooter Veronica Burton from newton south, who was Big Ten defensive player of the year In 2020.</span></p>
<p class="p3"><span class="s2">Here we look at 5 players from the eastern area making an impact for their high school teams.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><strong><span class="s1">Maddy Genser, Newton south #21, position PG Class sophomore</span></strong></p>
<p class="p3"><span class="s2">Maddy has been a dominate force for newton south. She is a point guard who is a leader on the floor.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She is a dominant scorer, who can score in a number of ways. Maddy can shoot the three, score off the dribble, and is a great finisher at the rim.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She has a very effective crossover,<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>and is very good at changing speeds. She sees the floor well and and understands the game. Maddy works hard on both ends of the floor, and plays tough on defense. Maddy is very good at pressuring ball handlers and creating turnovers. Recently Maddy recorded a triple double vs Cambridge. It was a triple double with steals. She had 10 steals in the game. She did a great job of getting hands in the passing lane and on ball pressure. Maddie is only a sophomore and should continue to improve. Maddy is proving to be able to play at high levels. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><strong><span class="s1">[player_tooltip player_id="183819" first="Amaris" last="Mills"] Newton south, #11, position G/F class Senior </span></strong></p>
<p class="p3"><span class="s2">Amaris is a versatile player with size who can play guard through center. She is a dominate scorer who averaged 25 points per game last year. Amaris is taller guard who can bring the ball up or post up. She can shoot the three, and has a soft touch around the rim. On defense Amaris can guard a number of different skills and sized players. She is a good shot blocker, and even when she doesn’t block shots, she is good at altering shots. Amaris impacts the game in many ways.</span></p>
<p class="p3"><strong><span class="s2">Abagail Wright, Newton North, #23, SF/PF</span></strong></p>
<p class="p3"><span class="s2">Abagail is a stretch big who can shoot the three, score off dribble and score in the post. Abagail is only a sophomore and has a lot of potential. She is tall at 6-0 and can play post defense, and alter and block shots. She comes from a basketball family, as her brother is a division 1 player at Princeton and was a star at newton north.</span></p>
<p class="p3"><strong><span class="s2">Olivia Quin Franklin, #23, position SF/PF, Class Junior </span></strong></p>
<p class="p3"><span class="s2">Olivia Quin is 5-11 but really stretches the floor with her very smooth and fundamentally sound 3 point shot. Olivia is a very good 3 point shooter and shoots at a high percentage. Olivia Plays for Franklin who was co champion last year, with an undefeated season. Olivia was a big part of franklins championship. Olivia has really worked hard to improve different parts of her game. Olivia attacks the glass hard and is good on the boards. Olivia can guard in the post and on the wing. I think Olivia can play at a high level.</span></p>
<p class="p3"><strong><span class="s2">Maddison Forman, Natick, #33 Position C </span><span style="font-size: 1rem; -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%;">Class sophomore</span></strong></p>
<p class="p3"><span class="s2">Maddison is a 6-1 true center who scores a lot in the post, and has a soft touch and good footwork. Maddison is physically dominate in a lot of her matchups, so Maddison is able to back down people in the post. Maddison really works hard on the boards, as she had 22 rebounds in one game.</span></p>
