Keely Cummings Keely Cummings 5'6" | PG La Porte | 2023 State TX -5’6 PG (Houston Skyrise 23 Elite)
Cummings hates me telling this story which is why I tell it, she was in 3rd grade dribbling before a game and I said “oh you think you can play” and she responded “come see” so I did, first 2 minutes she throws a no-look then drops a 3 and stares at me and I haven’t stopped starring back because her BB-IQ is second to none, she sees the floor very well and makes tough passes look easy but her ability to take over, especially in the clutch is just great
Riley McCloskey Riley McCloskey 5'3" | PG Memorial | 2023 State TX -5’5 PG (Just Play Elite 2022)
McCloskey sold me in the 7th grade playing up, size didn’t matter against seasoned high school players, and her poise and skill-set just did it for me yet she keeps adding, throwing blazing passes on the money with either hand isn’t easy yet she makes it look that way, so does her scoring off the dribble attacking and finishing with either hand yet the mid to long and controlling the tempo just keeps getting better
Abigail Tomaski Abigail Tomaski 6'0" | SG Memorial | 2023 State TX -6’0 SG (Just Play Elite 2022)
Tomaski is a big guard that can shoot, college coaches, love that, so do I but they’re offering scholarships and although that is what initially caught my eye about her, she has continued to show me more like setting defenders up to attack the basket and her finishes, after contact make her more than just a mid to long-range shooter
Gracy Wernli Gracy Wernli 5'9" | SG Bixby | 2023 State OK -5’9- SG(Team Griffin Elite 2023)
Wernli keeps showing me the shooting performance she put on in Oklahoma’s Battle In The Big Friendly was not a mirage and her game mirrors itself over and over because she can flat out shoot that ball. I love the way she not only creates her shot, but she also forces nothing and after her mom reminded me I wrote about her in the 6th grade, I patted myself on the back because I can call the players outside of Texas as well
Payton Hull Payton Hull 5'4" | SG Peaster | 2023 State TX -5’11 CG (Texas Lone Star Black- 3SSB)
Hull caught my eye a couple of years ago and I figured she was going to do some damage in high school yet she tore it up immediately winning several post-season awards so watching her create her shot and knock the mid to long-range down over and over wasn’t new for me. what set it off was her attacking and finishing after the lick and since she has had a growth spurt, she falls into that profile “college coaches love” big guards that can shoot
Brandy Jones Brandy Jones 5'9" | CG North Crowley | 2023 State TX -5’8 SG (Lady Jets Randle 16U)
Jones is just so smooth and efficient under pressure and always has been so seeing her just continue to run a team either controlling the tempo or pushing the ball and hitting teammates for assists, either way just made my day. Her jumper is efficient, she gets it off whenever she wants and she also can’t to the rim, whenever she wants finishing at times acrobatically
Crislyn Rose Crislyn Rose 5'5" | PG Sasche | 2023 State TX -5’8 PG (Lady Jets Randle 16U)
Rose is just one of those overpowering guards that is hard to handle, especially in the open court because she attacks the rim so strongly and finishes the same way that you better be ready to challenge her since she’s always up for that same challenge. She can shoot it, she has a quick release and in that same open court, her stop and pop jumper is a great tool to have
Londyn Oliphant Londyn Oliphant 5'6" | PG Sachse | 2024 State TX -5’6 PG (Texas Platinum 16U Walker)
Oliphant told me after I first wrote about her that she just wants to get better, that stuck with me and she reemphasized the same thing at Duel For The Dynasty so her work ethic and mindset is second to none, so is her skill-set as her first step definitely puts her in the driver’s seat to just do whatever she wants, the jumper, the attack, the attack, and dish, she’s so smooth
