Duel For The Dynasty closed out on Sunday with a bang of talented players, in fact, I had only seen the oldest Tse-Nizhoni-Morgan since she has been in high school and the youngest, Keeley Parks, playing against players heading to high school in the 4th grade but here are some of the standouts from yesterday
2022
Tse Nizhoni-Morgan 6’1 C (Nike Pro Skills SATX) Morgan HS
Morgan continues to show me progression, she’s toned up, is finishing even stronger after contact, and running the floor on both ends. She always rebounded well, also on both ends but another thing I noticed was her soft touch facing the basket as well as better on-ball defensive play
2023
Jade Young-5’10 PF (FBC Nightmares-2)
Young is one of those "you won’t outwork me" players and watching her explode off the ground for rebounds and battle for everything off the rim gives her that #THROWBACK hashtag and when you factor in she finishes with players hanging on her, that gives you an idea of how powerful she is
2024
[player_tooltip player_id="270657" first="Logan" last="Reed"]-5’10 SF (Platinum Basketball 2023 Alexander) Godley
Reed is long and athletic, I call that "the base" and she rounded all four as she brings a lot to the table. She creates her shot, under pressure and her deceptive first step gives defenders problems because she can also hit the jumper but watching her rebound and defend, as well as having good timing to block shots gives you an idea on what’s coming
Eris Lester-5’9 SG (FBC Nightmares-1) Orange Park HS
Lester has an explosive first step and watching her rebound and take off in the open court, you can almost forget about it yet she defies gravity attacking in the half-court, and with some pretty good body control, she is long and athletic, she’s going to be a problem
Peyton Conner-6’1 C (Platinum Basketball 2023 Alexander) Sterling City HS
Conner proves #SizeDoesMatter when you can play and she understands the simple things that are huge yet often forgotten such as positioning for rebounding, which she does well long with using her body but seeing her call for the ball down low and showing off her "hands and footwork" to finish as well overpower whoever is on her
Alaina "sugar" Spoonhunter -5’4 CG (Unity Basketball 2023-1) Heart Butte
Spoonhunter created her shot well and showed she could shoot it, especially from long range and seeing her drop the long ball in transition or creating it in the half-court, she also handled the ball well under pressure as well as saw the floor
2025
Keeley Parks-5’11 SG (Trae Young Elite 2023)
Parks showed me at a young, wait, very young age what was coming in fact let’s revisit 2017. As I often say, there is no me and she is becoming everything I saw because of a number of reasons including"POISE" at a young age playing "UP" and when you are fearless, you’re ahead of the game. She attacks and finishes after contact, she sees the floor, she knocks down the mid to long-range and guess what else, she makes those around her better
