Tuesday Prep Girls Hoops Indiana released it’s initial Class of 2025 Watchlist. It ended up including 55 prospects who have stood out over the past year or so, and it will expand in September as more players come to light. In this final introductory article about the Class of 2025, I wanted to highlight a few of the frontline prospects from that list and give you a little more detail into them and their games. To be clear, they are arranged below alphabetically by last name (not ranked), and there might be someone better out there who isn’t mentioned below. But these are some of the young ladies I have seen and/or heard about the most, and they are the ones I felt most comfortable writing about at this point in time.
Addie Gallentine, 2025, 6-2 PF, Evansville Memorial H.S.
Addie is likely the least-known of the seven girls in this article, and she could turn out to be one of the best. She is extremely long, fluidly athletic, and very bouncy (she reportedly can touch/grab the rim now). Better yet, at 6-2 she isn’t a post player. She prefers to float around a 15-foot bubble and play in the mid-post and short-corners, knocking down face-up jumpers, or attacking the basket off of a dribble or two. She is a nice help-side defender who blocks shots, but she can also defend out on the floor.

Avery is more of a traditional, back-to-the-basket post, and she is likely not done growing. She has broad shoulders, some strength, long arms and long legs, and the potential to be a mismatch problem throughout her career. She looks like she can add good muscle-weight over time, plus she already likes to play with physicality around the block. As she gets stronger, learns to play a little lower to the ground, and develops a solid go-to move, I think she could be a really nice recruit long-term.

Kaelyse has always been bigger than her peers, but the transformation she’s made from last Summer to this Spring has been fun to watch. A year ago she was just a big kid who happened to play basketball, so naturally she was a matchup problem because of her size. But now, she is leaner, she is more athletic in most directions, and she has really worked to develop a nice skillset around the basket. She has soft hands, can finish through contact, and she’s becoming a real presence at the defensive end of the floor.

(2023), and she is already drawing similar high-major Division-I interest/offers. Kira is already taller than her sisters, she has tremendous length, some bounce, good North/South athleticism, and she runs the floor well. She has nice skill in the mid-post, but she’s not afraid of taking contact around the block. She keeps the ball high, has good touch around the basket, plus she is playing with a much greater sense of urgency.

Jamaya has really impressed me with her improvement since I first saw her in the Spring of 2019. She has played “up” two age groups in travel ball the last three seasons, and it has done wonders for her game and her confidence. She is incredibly powerful, and she’s a people-mover type of post prospect. Jamaya does a nice job of working early and establishing herself on the block, she has soft hands, and she can finish through contact. She also plays with a really nice motor for a true post, and she’s an active rebounder.

Leah is one of the most polished interior players in the state in the Class of 2025. She is athletically built, strong, physical, and very active, plus she can play a number of roles. At first glance, she likes contact and prefers the block. She has good hands, good footwork, and she can finish with a variety of moves over either shoulder. But the more you watch her…she’s comfortable in the mid-post, whether she shoots the 15-footer or attacks the basket, plus she can step out and knock down the occasional 3-pointer.

Brooke has played “up” in travel ball the last couple of years, so she’s just starting to gain a reputation statewide as a 2025, as she is one of the better face-up forwards in that class right now. She has a wiry strong, athletic frame, she moves well in all directions, plus she plays with a good motor, a quiet toughness, and physicality. She has great skill in the mid-post, she’s comfortable around the perimeter, and she will likely develop into a kid who can flex between the ’3’ and the ’4’, wherever needed.
