Season Preview – Bridgeport, Hershey, Mullen, St. Francis

<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="297849" first="Tahlia" last="Steinbeck"] - 6’1 G-Wing 2023 - Hershey - </strong>I’m high on Tahlia as an athletic guard/wing with exceptional length and wingspan at 6’1. Has more length than a 6’1 prospect would normally have. She runs the court well and can finish in traffic. Very active defensively, using her length at the top of the defense. Can make deflections for steals at the top and quickly storm the ball up-court in transition for a positive play. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="279065" first="Ruthie" last="Loomis-Gotl"] - 6’3 C 2023 - Bridgeport - NOCO Triple Threat Basketball -</strong> Ruthie is a force in the paint and a top 2023 prospect in the state of Nebraska. She put up a ridiculous stat line this past season, scoring 653 points (19.4 avg.) on 64% from the field. Rebounded well with 8.1 rpg. and was a shot-blocking maven with 116 total on the season for an average of 4.0 per game. Ruthie’s recruitment has really blown up with Division 1 offers piling in, including a Colorado State offer with her sister Olivia. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="279066" first="Olivia" last="Loomis-Gotl"] - 5’10 PG 2024 - Bridgeport - NOCO Triple Threat Basketball - </strong>Olivia is a guard that has excellent court vision and can easily get the ball up to the open teammate, creating an offensive advantage for her team. Has some overlooked athletic ability, as she can get off the floor quickly and with some good rise to her jumps. She’s smooth and can put the ball in the hoop, averaging 17.3 ppg. on 51% from the field in just her Freshman season. Like mentioned, Olivia has an offer from Colorado State. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="291134" first="Shelby" last="Welsh"] - 5’9 SG 2022 - Mullen - </strong>Shelby is a shooting guard that has decent size. Good feet and movement on the defensive side of the ball. Gets involved in many ways averaging 5.6 ppg. and 4.0 rpg. She didn't attempt any three-pointers on the season per MaxPreps but was 47% from the field. Has the ability to put the ball on the floor and drive strong to the hoop.  She'll have to take on a larger scoring role in the upcoming season and will have to put up more shots. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="291135" first="Taylor" last="Svoboda"] - 5’8 G 2022 - Mullen - </strong>Taylor gives a ton of effort and energy on the court. Shows a good amount of playing speed and is normally sitting in a stance, preparing for her next move. Plays with quickness offensively and will make a move and distribute to teammates. Taylor found a way to score the ball, being the team's 2nd leading scorer with 11.2 ppg. She made 23 threes on the season, so she was due for about one per game. Was also a disruptive playmaker on defense with 3.8 steals per game and 109 total on the season. Due to graduation, all of Taylor's production numbers should see a bump in her final season. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="310754" first="Kaylee" last="Stricklin"] - 5’10 F-PF 2022 - St. Francis -</strong> Kaylee is a winning player and was a vital component in St. Francis having an undefeated season. Can play with some physicality on the interior and will box out and also crashed the boards offensively. Pitched in both offensively with 12.2 ppg. and crashed the boards with an average of 6.0 per game. Could put up some surprising statistical numbers in her Senior season.
