Tigges will be a household name this Winter at the 1A level for Bishop Garrigan. She will have the chance to play with another impactful big and she is going to have a lot of opportunities because of that. As long as she converts, it should be a heyday, which is what I expect to happen. She is coordinated at 5'11, she likes physical play, she can produce on and off of the ball, all as she plays really well defensively near and far from the bucket. When you combined all of that together, you get someone who will usually kill the 1A level throughout their career and that's what we are starting to see out of Tigges. This weekend Play4Him Academy will be in KC doing their thing, make sure to check out their group if you get a chance.

Trinity Whitefeather has always competed out of NE for AAU ball but Iowa for high school season and that's the case once again this Spring/Summer as she takes her last ride with Nebraska Attack. Whitefeather is someone that knows her own ability and she knows what she has to do to be successful within that ability. It might shock you but in high school, we don't see that too often unless it's with a high level type of player. Every time that we have sat down in recent history to watch Whitefeather, she makes calculated plays at a high rate better than most others around her on the floor at that time. She pushes paces down the floor in a hurry and she knows how to play off of two feet, leading to several counter moves whenever the defense starts to get too aggressive. She also is very good at anticipating where to pass the rock to her open teammates. She leads them where they are always going to be and that makes for some nice assists throughout the duration of contests. Whitefeather will be in MN this weekend at Summer Jam with her crew. They always play some convincing ball some I'm sure we will see that once again over the next few days.

We have had the chance to see Riley Johnston this AAU season and she looks like she is ready for a meaningful weekend on the road in Wichita with her Tulsa JYD program. Johnston is a PG with a knock down jumper from deep. She is able to let it fly off the catch or off the dribble, always giving it a good look whenever she has time and space. If the defense ever decides to over-play her jump shooting ability, she can put in on the floor and get to more favorable spots within the three point line for a midrange look or for an assist to an open teammate off of her creation. Johnston is going to be competing at the college level one day because of her sound shooting ability, her effort on the defensive side, and all the little things she brings with herself to the court. If she can continue to trust the process and run her own race, she is going to be someone we hear about for years to come at some collegiate level.

There should be a good amount of interest around Frankie Long this upcoming season because of her size and the thing is that she isn't just tall. It's really easy to say someone could be good in this sport because they are taller than everyone else around them. Long could be good cause of that factor but she also has hand-eye coordination, a soft touch on the ball, discipline to stay down near the basket on both sides of the floor, and she has an act for getting tips/deflections because of her active hand on defense. This weekend you'll be able to see Long and her Iowa Hoop Dream Girls group competing in Waukee. She should be one of the taller players competing there this weekend so I'm sure she will bring some attention to whichever court she is playing on and rightfully so.

Another individual that will be competing this weekend with some real height is Elise Pederson of Omaha Westside High School. Pederson has been a household name in Nebraska for Westside for a couple of years now and she is starting to bring in more interest as she moves into her Senior year. This is a SF that produces as a post. She has muscle mass to pair with her size and that helps her convert by the bucket. She can either go over smaller defenders or through bigger ones, if need be. She can also step out and pass from the outside at times when she can see the entire floor from the top of the key. I'm not sure where Pederson will end up when she commits but she is sure to have some options, especially at her size.

Kaylee Lake has been a steady producer this Summer on the travel floor with her Nebraska Attack team. Lake, the 5'9 CG, is best when she moves off of the ball on the outside. She is always ready to let go off a quick shot off of one of her teammates drives and she is someone that isn't going to just sit at the three point line. She is willing to drive and get all the way to the bucket whenever she has a clear lane looking down the court. Lake will be in Minnesota this weekend with several coaches in attendance spectating. If she plays her game and takes her time on things, she is going to impress some in the audience and who knows what that could lead to moving into July.
