Hankamp Hoops Open Run is coming to Elkhart, Indiana on October 10. It’s the third open run in a recent series. The first was called Flight Hankamp, held at Michigan Sports Facility in Jackson, Michigan. The second, by the same name and at the same location, will take place this Saturday.
Their has been, and will be, a great variety of talent at these events. We’ll look at 8 players that are great examples of athletes that we’d like to see at the event. If you’re included in this list, register and show the midwest what you’re game is all about. If you aren’t on this list, sign up and show us all why you should be.
To secure your spot in Hankamp Hoops Open Run, email your name, graduation year, and school to HankampHoops@gmail.com.

[player_tooltip player_id="189293" first="Faith" last="Carson"] (2023, C, Buchanan, Michigan)
I’ve always been very high on Carson’s talent and upside, and I’d love to see her show her game off at Hankamp Hoops Open Run. She can outmuscle most of the competition, but can also step out on the perimeter and hit cutters and get the ball in the paint with a pass.
[player_tooltip player_id="177319" first="Kaylie" last="DeHaven"] (2024, C, Northridge, Indiana)
DeHaven is a really intriguing prospect. She has length and underrated athleticism that she can use on both ends. DeHaven has soft hands and touch around the rim.
[player_tooltip player_id="244305" first="Hailey" last="Freshcorn"] (2024, PG, Onsted, Michigan)
Freshcorn is a special talent that more people in the midwest should be aware of. She’s a bona fide leader at the point guard position and is one of the more mentally tough players that I’ve seen as of late. This open run would be a great place for her to show off her game.
[player_tooltip player_id="177328" first="Kyra" last="Hill"] (2024, C, Goshen, Indiana)
Hill has all the intangibles that can lead to success, not only in high school, but at the next level as well. She has good footwork and balance for her height and age. I’d really like to see someone with her talent in person at Hankamp Hoops Open Run.
Mara Mitchell (2024, CG, Jackson Northwest, Michigan)
I saw Mitchell for the first time at Flight Hankamp Open Run I came away impressed. She’s an athletic guard that uses her foot speed to attack the defense. Mitchell can play effectively at a fast pace.
[player_tooltip player_id="128171" first="Kelly" last="Ratigan"] (2022, PG, South Bend St. Joseph, Indiana)
Ratigan is a lot of the things that college coaches look for in their future point guard. She’s a tough leader that’s efficient with the ball. Ratigan plays with her head up, gets the ball where it needs to be and keeps her turnover numbers low.
[player_tooltip player_id="128123" first="J’Asia" last="Scott"] (2022, CG, Fort Wayne Northrop, Indiana)
Scott brings a lot to the table as a player and prospect. She’s a 2 way player that makes it tough for coaches to take her out of the game. Scott can put the ball on the floor and break down her defender, and even the defense as a whole.
[player_tooltip player_id="127242" first="Olivia" last="Waters"] (2023, SF, Blackford, Indiana)
Waters is a wing with a very diverse game. She’s a multi level scorer that can hit a jumper as well as put the ball on the floor and attack the defender. Waters is a terrific perimeter passer and can handle the ball as well.
