IBC 17U 3SSB Standouts from Circle City Classic

The Indiana Basketball Club (IBC) 17U 3SSB squad was one of the more intriguing groups to evaluate this past weekend at the Circle City Classic in Westfield. Competing on the Nike Girls 3SSB Circuit, one of the premier grassroots platforms in the country, IBC consistently matched up against high-level national programs, providing a strong stage for their talent to show.   This roster features a collection of college-level prospects, with multiple players already drawing Division I interest and attention, and it showed throughout the weekend in both their competitiveness and execution.   What immediately stands out about this IBC group is their identity. They are a team that prides itself on strong guard play, physical defense, and structure on the offensive end. IBC plays with purpose — executing sets, making the extra pass, and understanding spacing. They also do a great job of pushing pace in transition, turning defensive stops into easy scoring opportunities.   Another key separator for this group is their chemistry and discipline. They play connected on both ends of the floor, communicating defensively and trusting one another offensively. Their guards consistently show the ability to handle pressure and create off the bounce, while their wings bring versatility with the ability to score at all three levels.   Defensively, this is a team that plays with an edge. There's a noticeable chip on their shoulder, as they compete, apply pressure, and make opposing teams uncomfortable throughout the game. Overall, IBC 17U 3SSB proved to be a well-rounded, competitive group that not only competes with top-tier talent but does so with a clear identity and toughness that translates to the next level.    Elliot Leffler continues to prove why she's ranked #13 overall and the top shooting guard in the 2027 class. A true scorer with a natural feel for the game, Leffler stood out once again this past weekend after an already impressive run through the IHSAA state tournament.   What separates her is her ability to make plays when it matters most. In tight, competitive games, she consistently finds ways to impact winning — whether that's creating her own shot, knocking down perimeter jumpers, or capitalizing on defensive mismatches. She has a strong understanding of how to read defenses and exploit matchups, allowing her to score efficiently even when shots aren't coming easy.   Leffler also shows confidence as a shooter, remaining aggressive and poised even in tougher stretches. She doesn't shy away from big moments, which is part of what puts her in early conversation for Miss Basketball honors down the line— one of the most prestigious recognitions in the state.   Overall, she's a high-level guard with scoring instincts, composure, and the ability to take over games, making her one of the premier players to watch in the 2027 class.     This was the first time getting an opportunity to watch Kayla Herron, and she did a great job representing the state of Illinois at a high level. Right away, her competitive edge stood out and was a key factor in how she impacted the game for IBC.   Herron brings a strong level of toughness and energy that helps set the tone for her team. She plays with a noticeable edge and consistently competes at a high level, which translates into winning plays on both ends of the floor.   Offensively, she is very fundamentally sound and understands how to play within structure while still being aggressive. Herron can score the basketball in a variety of ways — whether that's in transition, coming off ball screens, or operating within dribble handoffs. Her ability to play as a scoring point guard makes her a constant threat and difficult to contain. Her balance of scoring ability, decision-making, and competitiveness makes it easy to see why she is ranked among the top 50 players and top 10 point guards in the state of Illinois. Herron is a guard that consistently brings value and helps elevate the level of play for her team, and she's already drawing interest at the next level with offers from Bradley and Howard, with more likely on the way.     I've had the opportunity to watch Te'Asia in the past, and one of the first things that consistently stands out is her footwork when scoring the basketball. Whether she's operating on the perimeter or working in the low post, she does a great job using her feet and body to create scoring opportunities.   She also brings good size and presence, which is a valuable asset for this IBC team. Her ability to score inside and out gives the offense another layer, while her physical tools allow her to compete effectively against a variety of matchups.   Te'Asia's combination of size, skill, and footwork makes her an important piece in helping IBC compete at a high level and secure wins.     Macy is, and will always be, a competitor. Having watched her at both the high school level and now on the AAU circuit, that mindset consistently shows up every time she steps on the floor.   She plays with great effort and toughness, impacting the game in multiple ways. Offensively, she does a strong job of getting two feet in the paint, putting pressure on the defense and creating opportunities for herself and her teammates. Defensively, her ability to guard full court adds another layer to her impact, as she brings energy and intensity that can disrupt opposing guards.   Macy's competitive nature and two-way presence make her a player that's simply enjoyable to watch and a key contributor to IBC's success.     Emily Zack brings a strong inside-outside presence to this IBC group, giving them versatility on the offensive end. She does a great job of playing within her strengths, particularly with her ability to shoot the basketball and handle it effectively from the perimeter.   Zack is comfortable creating space for herself and making plays on the outside, while also being capable of contributing in other areas when needed. One thing that stands out is her ability to move well without the basketball, consistently putting herself in positions to score and stay involved within the flow of the offense.   Her skill set and feel for the game make her another valuable piece for IBC, adding balance and spacing to their offensive attack.
