The class of 2022 rankings were updated. Here are some forwards in the class that have done a good job raising their stock.

[player_tooltip player_id="116902" first="Emma" last="Fox"] | Newton-Conover

Fox’s ability to clog the paint on defense has been there showing off various blocks each game, but she has certainly expanded her abilities on the other end of the court. She knows how to read the opposing defender in order to show off the best move that will help her score some points. She’s aggressive in the paint not shying away from contact on her way to the basket, and she fights for rebounds including offensive boards that she uses as second chance opportunities.

[player_tooltip player_id="116895" first="Amiya" last="Joyner"] | Farmville Central

Joyner has narrowed down her college choices to Auburn, ECU, Pitt, Clemson, and UNC. Joyner has a finesse with the ball that makes most defenders scared to go up against her. She knows how to throw off her opponents with fakes, hesitation moves, behind the back dribbles, you name it to create separation from them as she drives to the basket for some points. She can step back for the jump shot from deep, or she can make a nice pass into her teammates making a cut to the basket. She is certainly going to be fun to watch at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id="261171" first="Bruni" last="Martinez"] | Winston Salem Christian

Martinez has done a great job anticipating where the ball may be going next and how she can get to it on defense whether she is jumping into passing lanes or grabbing the rebound coming off the glass. She positions herself well on the court sealing off her opponent to turn and score making it difficult for anyone to stop her without fouling. She sees the floor well making sure to find her open teammates in the open areas of the court for their own points.

[player_tooltip player_id="260170" first="Mary" last="Spry"] | Jesse Carson

Spry (pictured above) is coming off winning a state championship, and she continued the winning attitude all summer. Her poise in the paint has certainly reached a new level knowing exactly what moves she should show off and when. She fights for the rebounds, and she knows how to keep moving to shift the defense in order to help her team be productive on offense. Don’t sleep on her shot either because she has been draining them from deep this past year and using a nice jump stop to put up some midrange jumpers.
