One of the more dominant runs in for any team in Wisconsin, Marshall hasn’t lost a game in the south since 2017. Although losing [player_tooltip player_id="132346" first="Anna" last="Lutz"] and [player_tooltip player_id="132365" first="Laura" last="Nickel"] may give the rest of the division some hope going into the new season. With any conference that has been dominated in recent memory taking a look at who could have a hand in ending that reign of dominance is both intriguing and inspiring, due to the imagination the people have when they come up against a Goliath that Marshall has been in the recent past.
[player_tooltip player_id="262983" first="Mayah" last="Holzhueter"]-5’11 F-’22-Cambridge- The only returning player from the first-team all-conference team last season, she has all the talent to keep that spot this season. She is an aggressive player who gets in the paint and is willing to take the punishment and get to the free-throw line. Overall this is a player who went about 20 and 10 last season and any improvement would be difficult because of how well she has played but working on her shooting and keying into knocking down a higher percentage of her perimeter shots will be important to diversify her game.
[player_tooltip player_id="209591" first="Lindsey" last="Schadewalt"]-5’10 G-’24-New Glarus- After an extremely strong freshman campaign, this sophomore has a lot of talent. She is a bigger guard who has a beautiful jumper and she just exudes a level of calmness in her game. It’s easy to see that she has a pace that she wants to play at that it just has an aesthetic that makes basketball look easy. She was second-team all-conference last season and it could be the case that the Capitol conference runs through her for the next few years.

However, this is a player who has shown serious talent and flashes during her freshman season that she has a lot of room to grow. The good thing about that is she is only a sophomore with three seasons and a few summers to grow as a player before she graduates and she has a good base of ability to build on.
Julia Asik-5'9 G-'23-Waterloo- Asik is fun to watch when she is playing with confidence because she has a quick trigger jumper that she isn't afraid to use at any time. She also has a very quick first step out of her pump fake and she uses that to get to her solid in-between game especially against zone defenses. Beginning, the second half of her high school career this season will be big to see where her game is relative to where it needs to be to get to the next level if that is something she is interested in.
