<p class="p1"><span class="s1">HSOT released their all-state teams in April of this year.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>Here’s a preview of what you can see from those First Team All-State members this upcoming year.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><b>[player_tooltip player_id="116895" first="Amiya" last="Joyner"] | Farmville Central | PF | 2022</b></span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Joyner is being sought after by many Division I schools currently, and she has narrowed down her sights to Auburn, East Carolina, Pittsburgh, Clemson, and University of North Carolina.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>Her ability to get to the basket and battle through contact is difficult to defend as she has a variety of moves that she shows off including hesitation moves, Euro steps, fakes, and behind the back moves that create separation between her and her opponent.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She finds her open teammates as well seeing the floor with ease using her height and dominant ball moves to make the best decision.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><b>[player_tooltip player_id="116904" first="Jerni" last="Kiaku"] | Garner | CG | 2022</b></span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Kiaku may not be the tallest player but she certainly plays with the confidence of a 6’5” basketball star.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>Her ball handling is top notch weaving in and out of her opponents on her way to the basket.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>Her foot speed and passes are already at college speed, and schools like East Carolina and NC Central are certainly noticing with their offers.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>Her change of speed and crossovers make it easy to blow by her opponents.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She averaged over 25 points a game, about 5 assists a game, and 3.4 steals per game.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><b>[player_tooltip player_id="116890" first="Indya" last="Nivar"] | Apex Friendship | SG | 2022</b></span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Last month, Nivar (pictured above) cut down her top schools to three leaving University of North Carolina, Stanford, and North Carolina State to battle for her commitment.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>Her stats can certainly speak for themselves as she averaged almost 24 points a game, over 8 rebounds a game, and added a good balance of 4.4 assists per game along with her 5.1 steals per game.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She sees the floor well knowing exactly how to move with the ball and find her open teammates or take the ball all the way to the hoop herself.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><b>[player_tooltip player_id="116894" first="Torin" last="Rogers"] | Murphy| SF | 2022</b></span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">The Richmond commit averaged over 24 points a game and 8.2 rebounds a game.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She uses her height in the paint to make sure she can block shots, and she scans the floor well knowing where the open spot is.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She can shoot from deep or post up on the block.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She’s a nice ball handler showing off her ability to bring the ball up the court with speed herself.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><strong><span class="s1">[player_tooltip player_id="158260" first="Maraja" last="Pass"] | Shelby | PG | 2023</span></strong></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Pass shows her well balanced approach to playing basketball with her stats: 21.4 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 6.5 apg, and 4.8 spg.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She helped her high school win their first state title, and she was able to come home with MVP honors.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She’s a patient point guard knowing the importance of timing when setting up a play and showing off her moves to create separation from her opponent.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She tracks the ball well stripping it away from her opponents who try to dribble by her.</span></p>
