After the COVID year, some families had career situations changes and in the state of Alabama. We have football coaches come and go which brought and took players away and also players that have stepped up. Here, we focus on new players that will be coming to the state.
Bobo Sisters; 2025 Ava and Olivia and 2026 Katie | Auburn HS These sisters have moved from South Carolina and will all look to make an impact for their team. Their dad is Coach Mike Bobo, the new Offensive Coordinator for Auburn University and they also have solid offensive games. I expect them to be big parts of their offense and provide a spark from the beginning of the year.
[player_tooltip player_id="323422" first="Zoe" last="Lessears"] | 2025 F | McAdory HS
Zoe moves here from Ohio, and quickly got involved with a big summer. She was the Alabama Twisters Elite. She is a power forward, and she owns the paint. If you allow her to set up it’s an automatic two points and she is going to make sure that she gets to her spots to make the opposing team pay. Do not let her size deceive you. Her footwork and basketball IQ showcases her maturity and she knows how to get the best out of situations. I am looking forward to seeing her in action.
Ziinde Kumalo | 2025 SG | Hoover HS
Zii was a member of the Arkansas Banishees before moving to Alabama and she will come into a setting where the team will need her to be at her best. They will need her aggression and offensive prowess to take over. She is a player that can separate herself by being a big-time scorer. She is a lefty, that CAN shoot, finish around the rim and the best part of her game is that she is also a great defender. Listen out for this name for years to come as she is a player that will turn a ton of heads.
2022 [player_tooltip player_id="334832" first="Carleigh" last="Andrews"] | Auburn HS
These sisters are a product of two former Bama athletes. Jamilah (mom) was a big-time women basketball player that played at a high level and their dad; Carlos was a former football player. That kind of athleticism makes them genetically different and you see it in their game. Carleigh is a coach on the floor and is a senior that showcases that leadership through her play. She knows how to get the best out her teammates and will push them to new heights this season.
2026 Kelsi Andrews | Auburn HS
Then there’s the younger sister who has impressive size at 6-3 and is an eighth-grader that understands what is asked of her. She loves to rebound and has a great motor. She runs the floor well, plays with great energy and uses her size to block shots. Auburn will add her to the roster and will likely get her some minutes where she can prove herself this season.
