Several talented prospects stood out and led their teams to excellent campaigns, but only one held the title at the end. Prep Girls Hoops NC takes a look at some season standout performers from the 9Dime Fall League.
MVP: Zahara Gerald (Terry Sanford 2024 guard)
Terry Sanford sophomore guard Zahara Gerald will be one to watch this season after a great performance at the 9Dime Fall League. She defends well and gets to the basket with ease creating scoring opportunities for herself and her teammates. Gerald led The Platform to the league championship game after winning the regular season title.
Defensive POY: Breonna Roaf (Terry Sanford 2025 guard)
Roaf impacts both ends of the floor be she sets the tone defensively which is part of why she won defensive player of the year. The talented freshman prospect from Fayetteville would always take the challenge of guarding the opposing teams best player every night. She also has a great skill set offensively from attacking the basket to knocking down perimeter shots in key moments. Roaf and Gerald are part of a Terry Sanford squad that could make a deep run into the state playoffs this season.
ROY: Jasiah Gilchrist (O’Neal School 2026 guard)
Jasiah Gilchrist was one of the top middle school prospects at this league and will be an impact player at the varsity level. The biggest qualities she has are the ability to knockdown threes at a high rate and giving major effort on the defensive end. Thanks to her stellar play, she helped lead the Wolfpack to the tournament title and will succeed at a talented O’Neal School program.
