GCSS Point and Combo Guards
Points and combos were on display at the GC Super Scrimmage. Some of the best that the nation has to offer and a few newcomers stood out as well. Here are some that we will be keeping an eye on this season.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="88773" first="Kennedy" last="Fauntleroy"] - 5’9" - New Hope Academy - 2022</strong>

Kennedy is a proven elite player from her body of work since her freshman year. The Georgetown commit was on cruise control with a three here and there and steal and assist when she felt like it as she and her team faced little resistance in their games before heading to the airport for their Puerto Rico tournament.
<strong>Carine Pinkney - 5’3" - St. Mary’s Ryken - 2022</strong>
<img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-357234" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/11/DSC_0448-300x199.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="199" />
Carine showed off a nice three pointer with good form and elevation. She’s a solid point guard and very underrated. She has speed and a good handle and despite playing in the WCAC, Leonardtown MD being away from the action and Covid seem to have kept her under the radar as have happened with a lot of players in Southern Maryland. I expect her to be to focal point of every opponent the Knights face.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="137239" first="Regina" last="Walton"] - 5’5" - Elizabeth Seton - 2022</strong>
<img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-357232" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/11/DSC_0452-300x199.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="199" />
Regina packs a lot of speed to get the ball moving in transition. She has a good shot that she can let go from deep which opens up the floor. She attacks well at any point in her dribble so defenders have to stay on their toes constantly to have a chance of staying in front of her.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="25461" first="Kiki" last="Rice"] - 5’11" - Sidwell Friends - 2022</strong>

The top ranked player in the DMV didn’t disappoint showing of her midrange weaponry and accuracy beyond the arc. She has added an effective side step that she used on almost every shot, it gives her space at an unexpected angle for defenders. She is quick and has a great handle and the ability to get to the basket at will. She is also good at drawing contact to get to the line where she is an exceptional free throw shooter.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="88784" first="Angela" last="Harris"] - 5’7" - Good Counsel - 2022</strong>
<img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-357226" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/11/DSC_0536-300x199.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="199" />
Harris has been solid over the years, this season will be her opportunity to really shine. She is one of the leaders on a Falcon’s team that may be her most talented group she has worked with in her career at Good Counsel. With the firepower on this team I expect her to have a strong year as she looks to make a WCAC finals push.
