Bishop McNamara comes in as the top team in the nation and Bullis came in at #23. The clash between the two team was inevitable and needed to happen. We had 1 versus 2 wing and point guard matchups in the 2027 and 2028 classes to add to the top two seeded teams. The Mustangs have appeared unstoppable after winning the WCAC Championship and Bullis seemed like a team with something to prove after a late season stumble. On paper these teams were dead even and their preseason scrimmage was inconclusive. The game was a mixture of two halves with different flows. The officials let the players play only calling 6 total fouls in the first half and Bullis went into the break with a 30-27 lead with a 3-pointer at the buzzer.

At the half the officials changed the batteries in their whistles and the game had multiple stoppages with 37 total fouls called 31 in the second half. The Bulldogs got up in the second half and never looked back. the Mustangs, who are typically efficient from beyond the arc only made one of their 16 attempts in the second half and could not get in a rhythm to mount a comeback run. The game ended with a 62-50 Bullis win.

Adora not only had a game high 25 points in the championship game but she was awarded the tournaments most outstanding player. It was a deserving reward as she started the tournament hot and game after game she got better. She carried the load and with so much attention focused on Wilson-Manyacka, there was no answer any team had left for her. She added 7 boards in the championship game and never cooled off.

Jaylah was in for a career night with 15 points in the first half. She could do no wrong and was the absolute best player on the court sitting on zero fouls in the half. The second half was much different as the referee's tuned their whistles to her frequency having her head to the bench with her 4th foul with 3:30 to play. The flow changed and she was only able to muster another three points in the game going 1 for 7 in the second half still leading the Mustangs with 18 points.

It seemed like each time the Bulldogs needed a play to be made, Taylor showed up. A three pointer, a steal an assist, every play she made was right at the time it was needed to the tune of a 14 point performance. She handled much of the point guard duties and did well against the Mustangs pressure. Her play was a big reason that Bullis walked off with the title.

Adina stepped her game up in this tournament especially on the glass. She had a couple of double-doubles leading up to the championship game and was on her way to another with 9 points to go along with her 12 rebounds in the title game. On defense she was aggressive logging four blocked shots with only one foul. With a strong summer she can return next season as one of the top post players in the region.

Nyair has officially reached "elite" status. She has shown that she can score on anybody one on one. She is lighting quick and handles the ball on a string. It was hard for anyone to stay in front of her for an extended period. As the smallest player on the court she led the Mustangs with 8 rebounds, she also had 15 points being their most efficient starter. She gets better each year making me excited to see what more she adds to her bag for next season.
