College coaches looking to fill out their most sought after position had quite a few options to observe with many going head to head. The post players were solid down the line and each class being represented. Here are some of the top bigs of the day.
Kennedy Umeh Kennedy Umeh 6'4" | C McDonogh | 2024 State MD – 6’3″ – McDonogh – 2024
Kennedy combining with Delaney give McDonogh a formidable back court that can compete with anyone on the national level. Kennedy has great use of the drop step giving her a good mixture of power and skill.
Kadida Toure – 6’1″ – Good Counsel – 2022
Kadida will be headed to James Madison to continue her basketball career. She looks to overpower defenders and is very good at doing so. Look for her to add some counter moves as she will face player of equal strength in college.
Sophia Carlisle – 6’3″ – Bishop O’Connell – 2023
Sophia has had a college frame since middle school. She is an excellent rebounder working to create second chance points off of the offensive glass. She is intimidating in the lane altering shots of driving guards.
Delaney Thomas Delaney Thomas 6'2" | C St. John's College | 2023 State MD – 6’3″ – St. John’s College – 2023
Delaney has good hands to secure the ball off the entry pass and finish in the block. She is very physical and can muscle through most players she will face in high school.
Hannah Dereje Hannah Dereje 6'3" | PF Elizabeth Seton | 2022 State MD – 6’3″ – Elizabeth Seton – 2022
Hannah seems to have recovered will from her knee injury although she still wears a brace. She is showing good mobility and uses her body to create space.
Delaney Yarborough Delaney Yarborough 6'3" | PF McDonogh | 2022 State MD -6’4″ – McDonogh – 2022
Delaney has a host of moves in the paint and has a smooth hook shot that’s very effective against other bigs. Her x-factor is that she can stretch the floor with the three as she hit at least one in each game.
Caia Loving Caia Loving 6'3" | PF Riverdale Baptist School | 2022 State MD – 6’3″ – Riverdale Baptist – 2022
The George Washington commit showed some nice footwork in the lane. She has a soft midrange touch and it looks like her perimeter game is coming along which will be an asset at the next level.
