#5 to #4
Kennedy has always been a top 10 player. She is a strong and physical post player that is difficult to defend. When she has a clear advantage she locks in as she did recently scoring 39 points against a pretty good team. She is another local that’s heading west to the Pac 10 which will be a lot of fun especially those Stanford vs UCLA games.

The Stanford recruit looks like she is rounding back into form and shows no signs of her knee injury. She’s been a force in the paint, dishing out punishment as usual, but looks much more comfortable handling the ball and facing the basket. She should be a player of the year candidate this season.

Umeh is one of the top post players on the summer circuit. fresh off her commitment to Stanford. Umeh has demonstrated elite skills on both ends of the floor. She is physical and dominant in paint, possesses great footwork and has nice touch around the basket. She plays with a relentless motor and loves to run the floor. She shoots the ball well and has the ability to stretch the floor with more reps, but her mid range jumper is her bread and butter and where she can do the most damage.

and McDonough smothered Virginia Academy in their second game. Kennedy had a couple of nice moves attacking the basket and finished inside the paint all game. After a close loss to PVI in the previous game, Kennedy ensured that McDonough wouldn’t leave Bullis empty-handed. She got to the line a lot and finished with 22 points and 11 rebounds.

Kennedy made a splash last summer and had to nurse an injury during the high school season. If she can capture that magic again and dominate the paint, she can be one of the most sought after post players in the country. A healthy Kennedy can be a game changer.

This wasn’t her best game, but she still put up 14 points and 9 rebounds. She battled in the paint all night and kept her team in striking distance. Her presence in the post made it easy for her teammates to get open shots from the perimeter.

Kennedy is coming off an injury and is easing into playing time, but the results so far have been good. If she is able to get back to full speed her dominance in the paint could propel McDonogh to another A conference title and her to POY.

This was Kennedy’s first game back from her knee injury. She came off the bench and immediately took over the game. She set the tone physically and went to work in the paint. She had two quick “And 1” opportunities and was off and running. She played limited minutes, but you could tell what a difference maker she is for the Eagles. She is the most confident and dominant post player in the area.

The top post player in the class has made a national splash as well showing out at USA Basketball. She uses a good combination of strength and finesse to make plays and is usually strong enough to overpower the defender. She has a soft mid-range touch and is a threat to drive from the elbow or high post. She rebounds well as she controls her space and draws a lot of contact in the paint sending her to the line.
