SEMO Conference All-Tournament First Team

Last week featured one of the top tournaments to tip-off the winter season in the Show-Me State — the SEMO Conference Tournament. Cape Notre Dame three-peated as conference tournament champions by cruising past Saxony Lutheran, 50-28, and Dexter, 56-19, while edging Jackson, 50-49, for the title. Sikeston took third place with a 66-42 win over Dexter, and Cape Central beat New Madrid County Central 49-40 for the consolation championship. Comes down with plenty of offensive rebounds for putbacks. Draws fouls with ease. Premier passer in Southeast Missouri. Incredibly aware defensively for blocks and steals. 2022 6’1" SF [player_tooltip player_id="194139" first="Karris" last="Allen"], <strong>Sikeston: </strong>Uses her head-turning athleticism to always create scoring opportunities for herself. Fields great offensive moves like her hook shot and spin. Unselfish with the ball when she needs to be. Swat machine around the rim. Comes down with rebound after rebound. 2023 5’10" SG [player_tooltip player_id="317551" first="Katie" last="Waller"], <strong>Jackson: </strong>One of the best shooters in Southeast Missouri as she rarely misses free throws and usually sinks her threes. Natural slasher who has a knack for finding the basket. Opportunistic defender who always tries to get her hand on the ball. 2023 6’1" SF [player_tooltip player_id="193484" first="Tori" last="Rubel"], <strong>Cape Notre Dame: </strong>Arguably the best off-the-ball defender in Missouri. Next-level length, athleticism and stride to close out and fill lanes. Three-level scorer with a smooth shooting stroke and lethal moves for easy drives. Natural rim protector and glass cleaner. Pushes phenomenally well. 2023 5’4" CG [player_tooltip player_id="318365" first="Ki" last="Bogan"], <strong>Cape Central: </strong>Puts the word "fast" in "fast break" as she gets from one end of the floor to the other in a heartbeat. Racks up points in a hurry because of this and creates scoring opportunities for herself off steals. Pest defensively who always swipes for the ball.
