<span style="font-weight: 400;">Prep Hoops Staff was in attendance for the opening round of the 32nd Annual All A Classic State Tournament hosted at Paul S. McBrayer Arena on the campus of Eastern Kentucky University. All 16 teams played in the opening round on Wednesday. We have a collection of the best performances from the first session games.</span>

<span style="font-weight: 400;">Region 1 Carlisle Co vs</span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Region 8 Owen Co</span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Carlisle County - Sophomore Guard, Kierra Whitaker</span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Whitaker is a scoring guard that has a “drive” first mentality. She is quick with the ball and showed great touch with mid-game and floaters. Whitaker finished with 21 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 steals.</span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Carlisle County - Senior Guard, Maddison Wright</span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Wright is a leader by playing team-first basketball. She is a great screener, a great passer from the middle of the floor, works hard on rebounding, and has active hands on defense. Wright finished with 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists. </span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Owen County - Senior Wing, </span><b>Lexi Moore</b>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Moore has a great feel for her role with the group she plays with. She moves the ball from side to side and helps teammates be in the best position for success. She is an outstanding playmaker. Moore finished with 22 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists, and 4 steals.</span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Owen County - Junior Forward, </span><b>[player_tooltip player_id="260270" first="Gracie" last="Ferguson"]</b>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Ferguson is a relentless rebounder that pairs well with Moore. Both players are the primary focus of the offense and pick the spots to score or distribute effectively. Ferguson had a great game finishing with 22 points and 6 rebounds. </span>

<span style="font-weight: 400;">Region 4 Cumberland County vs</span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Region 13 Jackson County</span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Cumberland County - 8th Grade Guard, </span><b>[player_tooltip player_id="376803" first="Abby" last="Morgan"]</b>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Morgan is a true point guard with playmaking mentality. She does a great job to keep her eyes open, play in space, and look for teammates. She’s going to be a great player for years to come.</span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Cumberland County - Senior Guard, Kaylen Franklin</span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Franklin is a tough player that never backs down from contact. She is a consistent defensive rebounder that has the skill to grab the ball and drive it all the way to the paint. Franklin finished with 8 points and 5 rebounds. </span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Jackson County - Freshman Forward, Abby Gilbert</span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Gilbert had a great game and willed her team to victory in the second half. She is a ball-hawking “small” forward that finished with 17 rebounds to go along with 13 points. </span>

<span style="font-weight: 400;">Region 9 Covington Holy Cross</span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Paris - Junior Guard, <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="164414" first="Sanaa" last="Jackson"]</strong></span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Jackson is a shifty guard that finds driving lanes to create open looks for herself and her teammates. After a shaky start to the game, Jackson helped bring Paris back and finished with 8 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals. </span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Covington Holy Cross - Sophomore Forward, Julia Hunt</span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Hunt is a strong rebounder that seems to always be around the ball. Hunt finished with the sole triple-double of the day compiling 14 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 blocks.</span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Covington Holy Cross - Senior Wing, </span><b>[player_tooltip player_id="106157" first="Hanna" last="Robinson"]</b>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Robinson led the Indians in scoring with 17 points and knocking down five 3-point shots. </span>

<span style="font-weight: 400;">Region 2 Lyon County</span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Campbellsville - Senior Wing, </span><b>[player_tooltip player_id="31892" first="Briante" last="Gowdy"]</b>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Gowdy is a sure-handed ball handler that is the primary playmaker for the Lady Eagles. Gowdy finished with 14 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 points. </span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Campbellsville - Junior Wing, Kaylyn Smith</span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Smith is a true shooter that can hurt opposing teams if she is left open. </span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Lyon County - Freshman Forward, Lily Perry</span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Perry is a strong forward that plays well within her team’s needs. Perry finished with 8 points and tacked on 8 rebounds. </span>
