Continue ReadingThe Louisville Invitational Tournament, or LIT, is one of the most elite girls basketball tournaments in the state year in and year out. For anyone that is unfamiliar with the tournament, they essentially invite the top Louisville area schools, along with 4 of the best teams from around the state. This year the tournament featured 16 schools from the Louisville area, as well as Notre Dame, Bowling Green, Anderson County, and Franklin County. We already highlighted the two teams that faced off in the championship, so in this article, we will be looking at the remaining all-tournament team members.
Macie Feldman Macie Feldman 5'9" | CG Notre Dame | 2022 State KY | Senior | G | Notre Dame
Feldman is going to make her impact known whether her shot is falling or not. Her passes and the way she sees the floor is really next level. She has a really good mid-range game and can elevate over defenders to get her shot off, but she can also stretch the defense and hit from deep or drive to the basket if you play her too close. She crashes the boards hard and is a great defender.
Leah Macy Leah Macy 6'3" | PF Bethlehem | 2025 State KY | Freshman | G/F | Mercy
Macy is a high level player and a true stat stuffer. In 3 games, the freshman averaged 19.3 points, 9.7 rebounds, 4.3 blocks, 2.7 assists, & 2.3 steals. Macy can play any position on the floor and she can also defend any position. Her skill level was already mind-blowing for a freshman, but she just keeps getting even better as the season goes on.
Amaya Asher Amaya Asher 5'7" | PG Central | 2023 State KY | Junior | G | Central
Asher is a match-up nightmare for opposing teams. She’s so strong that it’s hard to find a guard that can stop her from getting to the basket, but if you try putting a post player on her, she’ll go right around them. She knows exactly when to stop for her floaters and has great handles. She plays with such poise and control, and is really a coaches dream as a point guard. It is clear that she is a true leader for her team, and she really has a special way of making sure she gets her teammates involved. One of the most impressive stats I saw from anyone in this tournament was from Asher as she had 14 assists in Central’s first game of the tournament.
Ayanna Stroud Ayanna Stroud 5'8" | SF Dupont Manual | 2022 State KY | Senior | F | Manual
Stroud is a force, especially in the post. She is strong and teams were finding it hard to stop her on the glass. She can dribble and pass at an elite level for a forward. She is such an efficient player and her shot selection was really impressive. She can really stretch a defense as she shoots the 3 at a very high percentage as well.
Jaya McClure Jaya McClure 5'6" | PG Christian Academy Louisville | 2022 State KY | Senior | G | CAL
McClure is so entertaining to watch. She goes 100% every second she is on the floor, and it is super impressive to watch on the defensive side. She will pick up her man immediately and guards them hard the full length of the court. Offensively, she is quick, athletic, and shifty. She has great handles and her passing ability is elite.
Alexis Carr Alexis Carr 5'8" | SG Male | 2022 State KY | Senior | G | Male
Carr is just a solid player all-around. She doesn’t make it easy on her opponents and if you take a play off against her, she’s going to make you pay. She crashes the boards hard and can rebound the ball extremely well. I also thought her passing ability was heavily on display throughout Male’s LIT run.
