The SCISA Class 3A Quarterfinals took place yesterday in Sumter at the Sumter County Civic Center. Prep Girls Hoops was in the building for all the first-round action today. Plenty of things to cover from Sumter here today so let’s get started with some game results first.

The first game of the day went down to the wire and First Baptist prevailed over Hammond 69-66. The Hurricanes were led in scoring by post player<strong> [player_tooltip player_id="171771" first="Tiana" last="Spann"]</strong> with 24 points. Spann was able to finish all night long with her lefthand or nailing down foul shots. Prep Girls Hoops had Tiana with 14 rebounds in the contest. Tiana will play her college ball at Winthrop University next year.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="255966" first="Yannah" last="Seaberry"]</strong> just a sophomore finished with 16 points for the Hurricanes. North Greenville University signee <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="300762" first="Mia" last="Wysong"]</strong> added 12 points and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="158920" first="Alexia" last="Grant"]</strong> chipped in with 10 points. Grant will play her college ball at Appalachian State University next year.

<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="124096" first="Tyra" last="Myers"]</strong> playing her last game for the Lady Skyhawks finished with 27 points. Myers a St Francis College - Brooklyn signee finished her career with 2,031 career points. Tyra is an extremely efficient shooter and ball-handler on the floor. Sophomore <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="256830" first="Anna" last="Katherine Adams"]</strong> added 14 points while <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="185222" first="Samira" last="Khalil"]</strong> chipped in with 13 points.

The Trinity Collegiate Lady Titans cruised to an 82-46 victory over Porter Gaud. The Lady Titans move to (25-4) on the season. Sophomore <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="238691" first="Kiyomi" last="McMiller"]</strong> had 25 points at the halftime break and finished with 35 points in the win.<strong> [player_tooltip player_id="175309" first="Jaida" last="Cameron"]</strong> a left-handed guard added 13 points,<strong> Azaria Knox</strong> mustered 12 points while freshman <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="185417" first="Tatiana" last="Williamson"]</strong> added 11 points.

The Lady Cyclones were led in scoring by<strong> [player_tooltip player_id="171797" first="Asa" last="Snyder"]</strong> 23 points. Snyder was able to finish on a few three pointers and bring some craftiness to the floor at times for the Lady Cyclones. Porter Gaud finishes the year at (12-11).

The Cardinal Newman Cardinals were playing with just 6 players yesterday for Head Coach Asia Dozier. The Cardinals move to (13-5) on the year with a win over Hilton Head Prep 54-33. University of South Carolina Lady Gamecock signee <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="124089" first="Ashlyn" last="Watkins"]</strong> was way too much for the Lady Dolphins to handle. Watkins finished with 19 points, 15 rebounds and 11 blocks in the win. Freshman guard <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="185040" first="Lauren" last="Jacobs"]</strong> added 16 points while<strong> [player_tooltip player_id="216959" first="Sabreya" last="Monsanto"]</strong> chipped in with 8 points.
The Lady Dolphins finished the season at (18-9) under Head Coach Phillip Hartman. Senior <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="363183" first="Katie" last="Campbell"]</strong> led the way with 10 points while her sister freshman <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="363182" first="Courtney" last="Campbell"]</strong> added 9 points.
In the night cap the Northwood Academy Lady Chargers got by a scrappy Augusta Christian (Martinez, GA) team 55-46. The Lady Chargers (22-3) and are winners of 14 straight games now. Sophomore <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="171805" first="Alayah" last="Birch"]</strong> led the way with 24 points while unsigned senior <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="194864" first="Aubrielle" last="Harris"]</strong> added 19 points. Senior guard <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="238124" first="Rachel" last="Ambroise"]</strong> added 9 points.

The Lady Lions finished the season at (16-10). <strong>Iyana Beard</strong> led the way with 14 points before fouling out with 3:40 left in the game. Freshman guard <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="297381" first="Rania" last="Curry"]</strong> added 13 points while Flagler College (FL) (NCAA D2) signee <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="363510" first="Jessica" last="Dowdy"]</strong> finished her career with 12 points. Dowdy fouled out with 1:02 left in the game when the Lady Lions were down 49-44.

** Trinity Collegiate lost to First Baptist 52-49 back on January 31, 2022.
** Northwood Academy and Cardinal Newman have played each other in the past 3 straight State championship games. Cardinal Newman has won all 3 games.
