This past seasons sophomore class is full of talented players. If this says anything about the talent on this list, 4 of the 7 players just competed and started for their team in the 16-team state tournament, and the remaining 3 players all play in different regions that each had a team make it to the Final 4 of the state tournament. [player_tooltip player_id="167104" first="Audrey" last="Biggs"] | Boyd County Biggs is one of the best all-around players in the state, regardless of class. She can put the ball in the basket in so many different ways. When she drives, she can finish with contact and she draws a lot of fouls. When she gets to the line, she shoots it at a very high percentage. Biggs was actually one of the top 50 free throw shooters in the state this year. She also gets to the paint and has a variety of moves she can make to score in the paint or in the post. She has really good size and strength, and is a tough match-up for any opponent because she'll post up a smaller player and drive around a bigger player. She's also got good handles and makes some phenomenal passes. The sophomore really sells her fakes and has a strong pull-up jumper. She can also knock down shots on the outside which stretches the defense. Biggs is an awesome team player and while she already has a number of D1 offers, I'd expect her to add quite a few more to her list this summer. [player_tooltip player_id="245899" first="Reagan" last="Bender"] | Sacred Heart Bender is a very high impact player who just led her team to another state championship. As a freshman, Bender joined a team full of D1 talent and instantly played a huge role for SHA. After winning state last year, Sacred Heart returned nearly every player and added the #1 player in the 2025 class. What did Bender do? Played an even bigger role for her team and went 2/2 as far as state titles are concerned. She runs the floor well and is a terrific shooter, but she can do it all. She has a very high basketball IQ and she can drive from anywhere on the floor. She can stop and pop, drive and keeps the ball where the defense can't block it, jump stop and make a move, distribute when helps step over, and really does it all at a high level. She made huge improvements to her game that was already impressive last summer, and she's another play I'd expect to add even more D1 offers this summer. [player_tooltip player_id="167107" first="Liz" last="Freihofer"] | Cooper Friehofer could really play just about any position and she actually facilitates the offense for her high school team that just made a terrific run at state. What stands out most about her game is how hard she plays. She works so hard when she's on the court and she is constantly making hustle plays. She continuously moves on the offensive end. She's a really good ball handler and she can handle pressure. She stays calm and could legitimately run point guard or post up and be just as effective doing either. She gets into the paint and finds shooters or she can make a strong move and finish around the rim herself. She's a great outside shooter with a quick release on her shot. Great defender who reads the passing lanes as well. [player_tooltip player_id="231485" first="Savannah" last="Gardner"] | CAL When you watch Gardner play, she's going to get your attention because it's nearly impossible to find another player that plays as hard as she does. Defensively, she comes up with steals and blocks simply by hustling to the ball. She reads the passing lanes well and gets steals that way too, but it is so impressive when she makes the plays that usually wouldn't happen through pure effort. She gets a ton of rebounds as well, both on the offensive and defensive end. Offensively, she can score at all 3 levels. She finished her sophomore season shooting over 40% from the 3-point line and she has really good form on her shot. She can shoot off the dribble or the pass and her shot is effective anywhere on the court. She has really expanded her post game as well and makes some really good moves on the inside. [player_tooltip player_id="250278" first="Allison" last="Spieker"] | Whitefield Spieker was born to put the ball in the basket. At the end of her sophomore season, she is only 29 points shy of reaching the 1,000 point mark. She started her sophomore season with a 27 point performance so she could easily reach that mark by the end of her first game next season. The lefty can get to the rim and makes it look easy. She also is really smart about when to stop and shoot a floater. Spieker makes some impressive passes as well and has good court vision. She has deep range from 3 and can get her shot off quickly. She really plays fearless and isn't afraid to play the best of the best. I really love the way she reads the floor on the defensive end. She can come up with steals by snagging it from the ball handler or off the pass. [player_tooltip player_id="167174" first="Logan" last="Palmer"] | Cooper Palmer is long and athletic. She is capable of scoring 20+ on some of the best teams in the state. In fact, she just proved that by dropping 22 points in Cooper's opening game of the state tournament. She is an excellent shooter who can also step inside and post up. She draws a lot of fouls and is a good free throw shooter. She is fantastic at moving as the offense is occurring. If a teammate begins driving, she steps out and puts herself in a really good position that makes the help defender make a tough decision to stay on her or step over to help. She boxes out and crashes the boards really well. Palmer is a good driver and can get into the paint. She makes good moves and has good touch around the rim. [player_tooltip player_id="349713" first="Peyton" last="Bugg"] | Boyle County Bugg is so quick with the ball that is extremely hard for defenders to stay in front of her. Defensively, she uses her speed to come up with steals and defend on the ball. She rebounds at a high level and really works to get some of her rebounds. While she gets to the rim, she is also an effective shooter from the outside. Bugg has a quick first step so once she gets past her defender, she has basically broken down the defense and can get to the basket or pass if help steps over.
