Iowa Girls State Basketball 2022: Day 3 Standouts

Day 3 is a great mix of 2A and 1A play today. She is extremely effective with the ball. Stared down the opposing team’s student section a few times after she hit big threes. Footwork is sharp and fast and her follow-thru makes you feel it’s going in every time. [player_tooltip player_id="246160" first="Kierra" last="Jungers"] - Sophomore - Forward - Newell-Fonda - 15 points 5 rebounds and 5 steals to lead a balanced attack. She definitely didn’t play like a sophomore and sparked her team over a tough long North Mahaska group. [player_tooltip player_id="63622" first="Emily" last="Dreckman"] - Senior - Guard - MMCRU - Long and strong. Scores at every level smothers smaller guards with her killer defense, and really see’s the court well and isn’t selfish, and will make the right pass. [player_tooltip player_id="63019" first="Audi" last="Crooks"] - Junior - Center - Bishop Garrigan - Just watching Audi warm-up had me pumped to watch her live for the first time. So big and strong. Nibble on her feet and has amazing coordination for a girl at her size. Her hands mammoth the ball and are soft. Her jumper is super smooth with touch and she finishes with strength well. Runs the floor great. Free throws are solid and wants the ball. Amazing talent to watch work and play. passes well out of the post and really has her team working around her well. Always moving and crashing. Isn’t afraid to mix it up in the paint and gets the ball to Audi well when in trouble. Desta Hoogendoorn - Sophomore - Center - Central Lyon - Very long post with guards like agility and long reach. Was all over the boards and protected the rim well. Gets a good position deep in the posy your done when she finishes with strength. North Linn tried to double her most in the first half and she still found a way to be effective passing.
