When I saw Molly Joyce Molly Joyce 5'7" | PG Bishop Garrigan | 2023 State IA play at the state tournament I was amazed at how efficient she has become as a shooter from the outside. Within her Bishop Garrigan team’s offense that she was apart of, a big objective was to feed their all state post player Audi Crooks Audi Crooks 6'3" | C Bishop Garrigan | 2023 State #42 Nation IA . This situation led to a lot of open looks out of the post to their shooters on the perimeters, Joyce being one of those shooters/scorers. On a consistent basis she was making the open shots she was given while also being the point guard who was setting her team up in the first place. This Winter she will join D2 Truman State to help them find success on the court. A task that won’t be easy but is do-able with the drive and skill that Joyce possesses.

Molly Joyce Molly Joyce 5'7" | PG Bishop Garrigan | 2023 State IA maybe a point guard at the next level but man can she shoot the three ball and she showed that off from all over the floor in their Semi-Final victory on Friday afternoon. Joyce, the Truman state women’s basketball commit, is a lefty with an efficient handle, good vision, and great stroke from long range. She is a lefty that, for the most part, always has good balance and form while shooting. She doesn’t turn over the ball often and keeps it all fundament. In this specific contest she did a great job early of finding Audi in the post and making a pass to her high hand. If not, they would continue to rotate the ball until they a had Crooks for a better look or an open jump shot. In the second half when the opposing team started to triple team the post they would pass out and Joyce or another guard would hit a three. A nice formula when you can make some open looks on a bigger floor. This group is going to try for one more championship this evening to cap off the outstanding careers of their senior class. As they say, “one last ride”.

Molly Joyce Molly Joyce 5'7" | PG Bishop Garrigan | 2023 State IA was one of the best point guards in the state coming into this season and will be one of the best at the end of this season too. Joyce, the Truman State women’s basketball commit, has dished out a team high 112 assists throughout their first 17 games this season. Ranking her #3 in total assists in the state. Joyce is currently putting up 16.8 PPG, 2.9 RPG, and 6.6 APG, showing off that she knows how to get the ball to her playmakers while also being able to score at a good rate herself. A lot of people out there think that it is easy to average these numbers because of the post player on her team being unguarded 1-on-1 in Audi Crooks Audi Crooks 6'3" | C Bishop Garrigan | 2023 State #42 Nation IA but it’s the things you don’t see on paper which I love about Joyce’s game. She is a floor general, a good decision maker, and knows how to run a good program. She is the player that demands the best from her teammates on the floor while doing what she can to guide everyone to success. She has this ability of making the players around her elevate to a higher level of basketball play, it’s truly something special to witness. I’m excited to see what she is going to be able to accomplish the rest of this season moving forward and for her college career.

Molly Joyce Molly Joyce 5'7" | PG Bishop Garrigan | 2023 State IA and Bishop Garrigan come off of a season with a state championship in their possession at the 1A level and they aren’t planning on giving it back this year. Joyce and her squad took their talents to another state for their first tournament of the year, trying to get a feel for their team as they play some opponents they wouldn’t usually face. Something in their first two games that “jumped off the paper” to me was the attention that Audi Crooks Audi Crooks 6'3" | C Bishop Garrigan | 2023 State #42 Nation IA in the middle requires for teams to compete with the Golden Bears, making Audi’s teammates a vital part to this season and their success, one of these players being Joyce. The Truman State women’s basketball commit and true point guard did well during their two first away games, splitting the pair. When the ball was moved to the middle in their offense, Crooks would be double teamed or even triple teamed, forcing her into a pass. When possible, if Joyce caught wide open for three she would knock it down, if her defender was lazy and not paying attention she would cut for an easy layup, and if possible she would pass to Crooks for an easy look under the basket. I am  curious as to how far this group will go this year now that teams have somewhat seen how to beat the Golden Bears after their state run a season ago. If other teams can execute and rebound, this is going to be a really fun year to watch that 1A varsity level of ball as it may end up being the most competitive out of any class in the state.

This was a very difficult pick for myself to make when it all came down to it but in the end I decided to go with Molly Joyce Molly Joyce 5'7" | PG Bishop Garrigan | 2023 State IA for a few reasons. For her current high school team she plays the point guard position, dishing out assists left and right while also possessing the ability to score at will, but when you look at her in the long run I think she is more of a shooting guard at the college level compared to right now. Her ability to shoot the ball and score at such a high rate is second to none, while her game style really favors the play for the 2 or 3 spot compared to the point position. Joyce will have a great opportunity to repeat as state champions this next season as they return herself and Iowa State commit, Audi Crooks Audi Crooks 6'3" | C Bishop Garrigan | 2023 State #42 Nation IA , to play the center position. I’m expecting another sensational year out of both stars as I couldn’t imagine the numbers they would put up if they were on their own team, being the main option.

Molly Joyce Molly Joyce 5'7" | PG Bishop Garrigan | 2023 State IA returns as the glue that keeps her Bishop Garrigan High School team in tact as she will attempt to lead them back to state, in hopes of another state championship after winning it a year ago. Joyce is a leader and all around complete player when looking at her from an individual stand point. She possesses the great ability to pass the ball, she gets help with that day in and out as her center is Audi Crooks Audi Crooks 6'3" | C Bishop Garrigan | 2023 State #42 Nation IA , the Iowa State Women’s Basketball commit. Last season Joyce was one of the top scorers throughout the state of Iowa in any class. She scored the ball near the hoop, in the mid range with a nice runner, or far away from beyond the three point line. Her efficient shooting ability gives her the chance to drive on her opponents when they rise up to block a shot. Pair this along with the skill to protect her dribble, finish and make free throws, there is no wonder she was as dominate as she was during the 21′-22′ season. This winter she will look be the piece that once again brings it all together for Bishop Garrigan as they attempt to repeat. I would be curious to see what type of numbers she would put up if she were the main focus of her teams offense but at her high school, they keep it a good balance making them very difficult to gameplay against.

Molly Joyce Molly Joyce 5'7" | PG Bishop Garrigan | 2023 State IA is the passing presence that Bishop Garrigan will need if they want to be back to back champions. With Crooks in the middle, the team needs a facilitator and last year that was Joyce. She averaged 18.5 PPG, and dished out 4.9 APG as the Golden Bears primary ball handler. Joyce had a successful AAU summer season and will be in ideal shape to help Crooks dominate this season.

Ranking #1 in assists in 1A with 137 last season and also scoring 518 points, the duo of Joyce and Crooks will be no joke once they take the floor this upcoming year making it a nightmare for defenses to plan against with a solid post game and a great perimeter leader in Joyce. The Truman State Bulldog commit  who consistently shows off her vision, great IQ, and ability to put the ball in the hoop had a great AAU summer for CY Select and can’t wait to show everyone that no matter where she is playing, she is a difference maker. It is very rare to see two big college commits playing on the same high school floor and should be exciting to watch no matter who they play.
