Junior Standouts at the Demetrius Richardson Memorial Showcase

<img class="size-medium wp-image-398124 alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/03/20220305_170423-191x300.jpg" alt="" width="191" height="300" />There were a lot of great players from the State of Florida who participated in the Demetrius Richardson Memorial Showcase.    Below is a list of Juniors who stood out. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="247123" first="Alex" last="Merceron"]  2023 G, F (pictured on left)  </strong>was a standout at the Demetrius Richardson Memorial Showcase.   Merceron can run the floor, she can put the ball on the floor and drive to the basket and finish with authority.   Her first step is explosive and defenders have a hard time staying in front of her.   Merceron can score on all levels on the court,  including a nice shooting touch from behind the arc.   Merceron also showed playmaking abilities when double-teamed.  She made some very nice passes to open teammates. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="331738" first="Monajah" last="Ford"] </strong> <strong>2023 F (pictured on right) </strong>  has the versatility to play at guard and at forward.   During he showcase, she did a good job of putting the ball down on the floor and driving to the basket.   Ford has a very athletic build and has the speed and quickness to go with it.   She also showed a nice shooting touch from behind the three-point line,  and she has a good midrange game.   She has a lot of explosiveness when she attacks the basket. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="352593" first="Maria" last="Garcia"] 2023 F  </strong>was relentless on the offense and defensive boards.  She plays with power on the basketball court.    Garcia rebounds with authority on both ends of the court. She has great footwork in the paint.  In the showcase,  Garcia ran the floor like a guard and even led a fastbreak.    The junior forward has good handles and agility for a  power forward and has very good court vision. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="247118" first="Sophia" last="Rueppell"]  2023 G </strong>was smooth out there.   Rueppell can run the point or can play the shooting guard position.    She shot the ball well in the showcase.    Rueppell makes good decisions with the ball and always makes the smart basketball play on the court.  Rueppell can shoot the three-ball and can put together a string of shots when she is in the zone. <strong>Jasmine Major 2023 G  </strong>did some nice things on the court.   She has a nice stroke from the 3 point line and plays with a lot of energy.    Major can handle the ball with the left and the right hand and she does a great job of creating shots for her teammates with her ability to penetrate. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="247121" first="Lauren" last="Cioffi"] 2023 C</strong> was a force on the inside.   She showed a lot of power on the inside and she fights for every possession.   Cioffi also is a  very good rebounder on the offensive and defensive end.  She can put the ball in the basket inside the painted area. <strong><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/03/20220305_153123-scaled-crop-1362x895-1646786152.jpg"><img class="size-medium wp-image-398128 alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/03/20220305_153123-scaled-crop-1362x895-1646786152-300x197.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="197" /></a>[player_tooltip player_id="247154" first="Yakiya" last="Milton"]  2023 F (pictured on left)  </strong>made her presence felt at the showcase, especially on the defensive end.   Milton did a good job of rebounding and initiating fastbreaks.   The strongest part of her game is defense and Milton did a solid job of defending the paint.  Milton also showed her versatility by defending on the wing.   Milton did a good job in transition, filling the wing and also leading the break on several occasions. &nbsp;
