<strong>Recapping the 4A Finals </strong>

<em>Lake Highland Prep and Calvary Christian Academy won big over Booker and Bishop Kenny, matching up against each other in the 4A Finals. </em>

Appearing in Lakeland for the fifth year in a row, LHP defeated Booker 73-51 and then Calvary Christian TBD to win the 4A State Championship. In the semi-finals, LHP jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter and never looked back, cruising to a 22-point victory. Booker had no answer for Louisville signee <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="91555" first="Nyla" last="Harris"]</strong> as she scored a game-high 23 points and 13 rebounds. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="91649" first="Eleecia" last="Carter"]</strong> (14 points) and <strong>Bri Rivera</strong> (11 points) showcased their outside shooting ability, knocking down several deep 3s.

Lake Highland picked up the full court pressure in the second half, outscoring Calvary 15-4 to start the 3<sup>rd</sup> quarter and pushed the lead to double digits. Again, Lake Highland relied heavily on <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="91555" first="Nyla" last="Harris"]</strong>, feeding her inside and letting her go to work. She finished with an impressive 26 points and 21 rebounds. Carter, Rivera, and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="91596" first="Sierra" last="Godbolt"]</strong> made it tough for Calvary to make a run, knocking down several open 3 with Carter finishing with 18 while [player_tooltip player_id="217664" first="Lexi" last="Blue"] finished with 17. LHP only dressed 8 with Freshman <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="248449" first="Arianna" last="Woodard"]</strong> and Senior <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="91585" first="Stefanie" last="Ingram"]</strong> sitting out the game in dress clothes but cheering their squads on to victory!

Booker wrapped up its season with a tough loss to Lake Highland Prep in the semi-finals. The Lady Tornadoes were led by Junior Forward <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="91661" first="Chariot" last="Johnson"]</strong> who got it done on both ends of the floor and did her best to keep Booker competitive. Johnson finished with a team-high 16 points, while <strong>Leah DuBose</strong> chipped in with 9 points, and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="349275" first="Jakai" last="Peterson"]</strong> scored 8 in the loss.

Calvary Christian Academy wrapped up their season with a hard-fought loss to Lake Highland Prep. The young, talented squad defeated Bishop Kenny 49-37 in the semifinals. Calvary used full court and half court pressure to take down Bishop Kenny. Senior Guard <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="91595" first="Samiyah" last="Briggs"]</strong> finished with a game-high 17 points and 5 rebounds while <strong>Markelli Jones-Tynes</strong> added 11 points. <span style="font-size: 1rem;">In the finals, </span><strong style="font-size: 1rem;">Senior [player_tooltip player_id="220010" first="Elizabeth" last="Schnell"]</strong><span style="font-size: 1rem;">, led the way with 20 points, knocking down four 3-pointers. Senior Guard</span><strong style="font-size: 1rem;"> [player_tooltip player_id="91595" first="Samiyah" last="Briggs"] </strong><span style="font-size: 1rem;">finished as the team’s leading scorer in Lakeland averaging 14 points per game, dropping 11 points vs Lake Highland Prep. While</span><strong style="font-size: 1rem;"> Markell Jones-Tynes </strong><span style="font-size: 1rem;">averaged 13 points per game in, scoring 15 points vs Lake Highland Prep and showcasing why she is one of the state’s top Freshman.</span>

Bishop Kenny wrapped up their season with a loss to Calvary Christian. Senior <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="91575" first="Maddie" last="Millar"]</strong> wrapped up a stellar prep career in a hard-fought loss. The North Florida signee went 4/18 from the field (3/12 from 3) and finished with 12 points. Junior guard <strong>Sophia R</strong>ueppell (11 points) and Sophomore <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="248345" first="Clare" last="Coyle"]</strong> (6 points) did all they could to help Bishop Kenny but in the end it was not enough.
