They play a tough hard nose defensive game. High-pressure press mixed in with a little bit of Grinnell college system ball with a run and gun style. Intensity has built McDonald’s All-American candidates and helped many boys and girls follow their dreams and continue to play in college at a high level.
Coached by Casey and Cally Gibb’s. Casey tells me this will be a fun group of girls who can compete at a high level. A young team around a group of solid starters in 1A to 4A players, Gibb’s say’s they will take a little time to gel with the young pups added to this group. But once they do they will be a force to be reckoned with this summer. A few of these girls train with me so I know their games pretty well and have watched them all grow over the years. Iowa Intensity and R.A.D. kids are just built differently. I have been around intensity basketball in some capacity whether it was refing AAU games in the area or helping local kids train to be the best baller they can be. Coach Hansen’s program is all about developing and building kids, He always puts the kids first. That is essential in maintaining a club team for over ten years now.
Emie Tuhn – Emie has a downhill game most girls can’t handle. She is an extremely strong guard for a freshman. Emie can get to the bucket and finish very well. Her biggest strength to me is the defensive pressure she applies usually fullcourt. Tuhn returns for her 2nd season with us and was Baxter’s 3rd leading scorer last year with 11.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 2.7 steals per game as a Freshman on the 24-1 Bolts. A huge pest on defense Tuhn has a great three-point stroke that’s quick and hard to defend. She will dominate 1A in Baxter for years to come. Kayla Heck – Started in about three fourth of South Tama’s games last season as a sophomore, averaging 2.2 points and 2.6 rebounds per game. Kayla has a long reach that’s pesky on defense. Aggressive game and shooter Highlights at https://www.hudl.com/profile/15294997/Kayla-Heck/about
Sophie Shuckahosee – Sophie is a small forward type who is very effective on defense. Very good at attacking gaps and scoring with her runner. A very capable shooter who plays hard all the time. Follow her at http://Sophie Shuckahosee
Karlie Anderson – New to the group this season. Anderson is a strong guard type. An aggressive scorer who plays tough nose defense. She should help this group stretch the floor with her three-point shooting capability. Get’s a bunch of turnovers with her constant ball pressure and tenacity. Peyton Sanders – Another R.A.D. Kid. Peyton is shakey and smooth. Great stop and go game. Shoots the ball well from three. Can get to the hoop and finish as well. See’s the court well and makes the right play for her team. she might be limited in her summer action early as she dislocated her knee cap in track. Olivia Renze Olivia Renze 5'7" | SG Grinnell | 2024 IA – Olivia’s game is tough and hard-nosed. Shakey guard who will probably split action running the show and plays well for her age. Has a mixture of her dad’s post-game and footwork and mom’s tough guard play and three-point stroke. I see Olivia being a very effective shooting guard at the next level as she grows her game. Bailey Strovers – Bailey’s game is unique to me. Strong hybrid type player with strong ball control. Once she gets a girl on her hip she’s gone and scores well in the lane and at the rim. If she can develop a midrange game and work on her footwork more I believe she will be a very capable college small forward. Has also been with our program for several seasons. She should break out in a big way next year for a perennially tough team in Grinnell. Highlights at https://www.hudl.com/profile/14145743/Bailey-Strovers/about
Mariah Van Ersvelde is – Strong young player growing in her game. Mariah will gain so much experience in practices and games this summer. A shooting guard who is learning to get to the rim. As she builds her game I see her playing a little more school ball next year if she can lock in her defensive skills over the summer. Follow her at https://www.hudl.com/profile/17392014/Mariah-Van-Ersvelde/highlights
Breckyn Schilling Breckyn Schilling 5'11" | SF North Mahaska | 2025 State IA – The most athletically gifted girl on the squad. Breckyn will be a force for years to come. Her game is growing very quickly. Long stretch hybrid type player who can get you lots of turnovers and pushes the pace to score. North Mahaska’s 2nd leading scorer last year on a team that made it to State. Schilling averaged 12.5points, 3.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 2.8 steals per game and has been with our program for several years. Potential D1 talent if she puts in the work. Highlights at https://www.hudl.com/profile/16552119/Breckyn-Schilling/about
Aubree Arthur – Started some games for Lynnville-Sully and should be a key player for the next season. Aubree averaged 3.7 points and 4.5 rebounds this past season. Big fan of this girl’s game she has so much upside to me. The team’s pulse on defense. She is always communicating on the court. She really gets after it on both ends. Will be a solid player as she grows and builds with Intensity. highlights at https://www.hudl.com/profile/16603570/Aubree-Arthur/aboutDe
