These five prospects are trending up as we move into their next season of high school ball this upcoming Winter. Make sure to check them out if you have a chance because you'll probably be hearing about each of them more and more as the season presses on.

Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!

Webb was a leader last Winter as a Sophomore for West Burlington High School from the CG position. She filled up the stat sheet as her team's leading scoring threat, she was a top rebounding source, she assisted those around her with effortless passing, and she defended pretty well whenever it was a 1v1 situation. Webb is also very active. She consistently moves and that helps her thrive against opponents who stay still or don't communication too well. This Winter Webb should be West Burlington's leader once again in PPG, RPG, and possibly APG. She will have a few other upperclassmen around her to help out but I wouldn't be shocked if she finished off her Junior year the same way she did with her Sophomore year - as their top producer on both sides of the ball.

Hinton is always loading up with new talent within their Freshman Class. It seems like each Winter it's the same things all over again. They have two or three hoopers are going to be joining the Hinton group and they are going to be able to dominate the 2A Class throughout Iowa if they are put in the right positions to succeed. In this case we are specifically talking about Libertee Junck at the PG position. Junck might start as the Varsity PG as a Freshman. I'm not sure. They will have options but this would be a consideration if I'm on the coaching staff. She is skilled enough to be able to run her team's offense, she can defend the 1 spot with ease, all while making those around her better with how she competes. We will see early on in the season where she falls within this team's lineup but this is a name we are going to mention more than once throughout the Winter by the looks of it.

It could be a special season for Emma Putman of Central DeWitt High School. We haven't seen Putman's full ability just yet because she has always had some talented ballers on the roster with her. Therefore she hasn't had to step up too often or had to take over on any specific occasion but this Winter Putman should lead the team in PPG while being their best option on that side of the ball. She primarily works as a SG so the play of her PG and those around her will obviously impact that but everything is lining up so that she is their leader for her Junior year. This is the first time we have seen Central DeWitt without one of their main ballers. Their last 4- 5 season they have either had Lauren Walker, Ava Putman, or Kinley Birt so this year is going to be really different but that's okay. It's going to give the opportunities for others to step up as leaders and I expect Emma to be one of those others.

Melayna Boeschen has a quiet play-style from the Guard position. Her game isn't loud or demonstrative. Instead, it's fundamental. She plays the angles while attacking down hill really well and she is selfless enough to find those around her for option offensive attempts, whenever those opportunities present themselves. To get on the floor last Winter as a Freshman, Boeschen came in and played her role to a T. She had a positive Assist-to-Turnover ratio, she converted near the bucket when she got attempts, she worked really hard to become one of her team's best defenders throughout the Winter as a whole, and she got better as the season moved forward towards the Playoffs. MB is going to be someone this team looks to this Winter because she saw meaningful minutes last time around. As long as she has been working during the off-season, I'm sure she will come back and do even better throughout the next eight months for the Raiders.

One of the best overall seasons out of prospect in Iowa was had last Winter when Bryn Patterson stepped on the floor for MVAOCOU High School. Patterson took the court, started her first game as a Freshman and she never looked back. She finished the Winter averaging 19 PPG, 5 RPG, and 5 APG. The 5 APG gives her one of the highest APG #'s throughout the state has a whole, no matter Class level or age and that just speaks to the type of game that Patterson competes with. She is tenacious, she is relentless, she is skilled, and she has that clutch gene that everyone likes to talk about within some young hoopers. She is confident with what she can do and that's easily to see when you watch her compete live for a short about of time. I expect even better numbers this Winter out of BP. She is set up to average over 20 PPG on some high shooting percentages. From there, who knows where else she takes things.

15 & 12. That is what we would call an easy day for Evie Davis of Webster City last season as a Sophomore. Throughout the Winter the Lynx played their hearts out and left it all out on the floor. They're leader and most dominant player being Davis in the middle at the Center position. Davis comes in right around 6'1 and she knows how to control the traffic near the blocks. She is good at communicating to her teammates of what is happening around them with cutters moving in and out of the lane. She also covers a lot of space in a short amount of time so she is someone that you have to worry about if you are on the opposing team and driving to the lane for a look near the hoop. Davis returns this Winter with vengeance on her mind. Her team's overall record last season wasn't the best so they are trying to turn that around. I know that is going to be a big goal for them as a whole over the next eight months and Davis will be in the front of their pack, leading the charge to make that happen.

These five prospects are trending up as we move into their next season of high school ball this upcoming Winter. Make sure to check them out if you have a chance because you'll probably be hearing about each of them more and more as the season presses on.
