PGH Circuit Preview: Oklahoma Swift (Dynasty Region)
Head Coach and Director Amber Mathurin has progressed rapidly from taking over one boys team in December of 2019 to currently having 22 Oklahoma Swift teams, the majority of them female. Mathurin is proud of her team’s culture which encourages her athletes to be the best possible version of themselves on and off the court. A hard worker who barely had a chance to slow down and answer questions for this writer, it is clear that her efforts are paying off. Mathurin’s teams perform incredibly on the PGH Circuit and she has several players with Division-I offers at a very young age.
Oklahoma Swift will make their Dynasty Region debut this weekend at the Battle in the Big Friendly in Oklahoma City. Here are the players to keep an eye on if you’re a college coach and the players you’ll want to keep an eye out for if you’re a competitor.
McKenzie Mathurin McKenzie Mathurin 5'10" | CG Broken Arrow | 2025 State OK | 5-10 CG | Broken Arrow | 2025 | @mathurin2025
The coach’s kid is also the coach on the floor for Oklahoma Swift. She has a high basketball IQ to go along with high major D-I talent. She has the size and strength to play anywhere and against anyone. She defends better than most anyone you will see on the circuit and is a true three-level scorer. McKenzie alone is worth the price of admission to any Dynasty Region event.
Jill Twiehaus Jill Twiehaus 5'10" | SG Jenks | 2024 State OK | 5-10 SG | Jenks | 2024 | @Jill_Twiehaus
McKenzie is the No. 3-ranked player in the class of 2025 and Jill is the No. 3-ranked player in the class of 2024. Both are Division-I players. Both are tall and long and both can fill it up from long range. Twiehaus is more of a spot-up shooter, but still has the ability to defend at a very high level. One of the most exciting pure athletes on the circuit, Jill can absolutely jump out of the gym and I would not be at all surprised if she were dunking by the end of her high school career.
Parker Stevenson Parker Stevenson 5'6" | PG Bethel | 2023 State OK | 5-7 PG | Bethel | 2023 | @OkBaller352
The 2023 rankings are currently being edited and I can guarantee you that Parker’s No. 80 ranking will be improving dramatically. She is a midmajor player and the rankings will reflect that. She is also tough as nails. I saw her take a charge recently, get her face stepped on, and then come right back in to hit some big-time shots for her Swift squad. She is a tremendous shooter with a high motor. She gets to the basket with great handles and scores in bunches. Stevenson is what they call “a bucket;” plain and simple.
Aleah Moree Aleah Moree 6'2" | C Winfield | 2024 State KS | 6-2 F/C | Winfield (KS) | 2024 | @aleahmoree1023
Coach Mathurin says that Moree’s hands are like “suction cups” and after seeing her at Border War this past weekend, I can definitely attest to that fact. She was one of the best bigs in a room full of really good ones. She clearly has the size at 6’2″, but better than that, she knows how to use it inside. She boxes out, secures a ton of rebounds, and knows when to kick it out or take it right back up. Still very young, it is clear that Moree is on the same D-I path as a lot of her teammates if she continues to develop as I know Oklahoma Swift can help her to do.
Jacey Crawford Jacey Crawford 6'2" | C Stillwater | 2023 State OK | 6-2 F | Stillwater | 2023 | @crawford_jacey
Crawford is the definition of a “stretch four.” She definitely has the size to play inside, but her shooting ability and speed enable her to step out and play on the perimeter. She is a shot swatting machine and because of her ability to play almost anywhere, she alters shots down low and around the three-point arc. She is a nightmare match-up for offenses. Jacey continues to work on her post scoring while working with the outstanding coaches at Oklahoma Swift and every time I see her play she is improving more and more. It looks like in no time Swift will have yet another D-I prospect in their ranks.
