Logan Johnson (Mayde Creek HS) Houston United 2023 [2023]
Johnson was a surprise in more ways than one, first of all, she has a college-ready body and is vocal on the court so watching her power to the basket off the dribble was nice yet she wasn’t done as she showed she could step outside and drop the jumper, a couple of deep ones, yet she also did a good job of not only defending inside but also outside of the paint and rebounded on both ends of the court
Faith Ebel (Magnolia West HS) Houston United 2023 [2023]
Ebel proves you gotta have Faith as her being “long and athletic” immediately caught both of my eyes but when she played the p[assing lane, I refused to blink. Her timing is good, she also finishes around the basket, this includes putbacks because she did a good job going after the rebound countless times
Sara Vance (Magnolia West HS) Houston United 2023 [2023]
Vance plays within herself and that in itself was good to see as she forces nothing and understands something very important, ” how to get hers in the flow” but she also played solid defense, recognized the switch, and also did a good job trapping but to add even more, she saw the floor well
Lily Gonzalez (Rouse HS) Competitive Edge 2023 [2023]
Gonzalez was a pleasant surprise because she won’t be outworked and when you have that mindset, I have to drop the #THROWBACK but that mindset had her not only going after everything off the rim, she went after loose balls on the floor, even in the stands. Nice moves on the inside and finishes after contact
Jayla Allen- HG Elite 2023 S40 [2024]
Allen has the acronym AG next to her name, for those trying to decipher my notes when I’m not looking, that’s athletic guard and when you add PU, the pull-up jumper as well as OD, off the dribble, well that speaks volumes yet the noise got turned up even louder because she has good range and a QR, quick release
Camryn Tade- HG Elite 2023 S40 [2023]
Tade does a good job of not only creating her shot under pressure but dropping the jumper with a hand in her face. Her deceptive first step also enables her to get the defender off balance which is good for her because she can attack with either hand and finish the same way, with either hand
Nicole Wallace- Players First 2023 [2023]
Wallace’s name just stood out because that was an actress’s name on Law And Order, but this Wallace is real and she definitely created some LAW and ORDER on the inside because she’s long and athletic, please step to the head of the class if you remember that’s the base and watching her play the passing lane, attack from the wing and rebound were all nice but the defense was pretty good as well
